Growing up in Judaism and finding it bereft of a heaven to gain and a hell to shun, at the age of twenty one I embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as the Jewish Messiah and the message of the New Testament, and afterwards, the Orthodox Church.
After twenty five years making a good living as a successful straight-commissioned salesman of Industrial Chemicals, I left the rat race in 1996 and joined an Orthodox monastery seeking quiet, interior prayer and healing for my soul.
A whole new world was opened up to me and this world, this experience, I wish to share with all of you now.
Our day began at midnight when Father Luke sounded the Semitron calling us all, nearly fifty of us to prayer… to our midnight service called Divine Liturgy where we partook of Holy Communion.
The service ended at 3 AM and we hurried back to our cells to start our prayer rule, a series of prayers and prostrations assigned to us by the Abbot, the Elder of the monastery. Then a brief nap.
We were all up by 7:30 AM to begin our work, our chores, which we called our “obediences.”
Some of us were Icon Painters – the livelihood of the monastery…painting and selling Icons – while the rest of us did the cleaning, the cooking, the general maintenance. While others were engaged in research, preparing manuscripts for books to be published.
At noon we gathered in the Refectory, which we called, “Trapeza,” which in Greek monastic tradition means “Table.” We ate our meals in complete silence while a specially-assigned monks read from the Lives of the Saints.
After clearing tables and doing dishes we were back in our cells for a brief nap…then back in Church at 3:30 PM for the late afternoon service of Vespers.
A light meal would follow and then Compline, the final service of the day.
After Compline the real work of a monk would begin.
First we met with the Abbot, the Elder of the monastery, a seasoned monk who attained a high Spiritual virtue after spending years in quiet perfecting interior prayer known as the Jesus Prayer which purifies, illumines, and deifies the soul.
We novices bared our own souls to the Elder, revealing our thoughts, our doubts, our struggles, and receiving in return, healing..consolation..cleansing, and experienced a deep monastic exchange received from the Elder, a transfer of grace.
Back in our cells, we too worked on perfecting the Jesus Prayer repeating over and over again for three to four hours the words of the prayer, “Lord Jesus Christ Son of God Have Mercy on Me.”
At first the Prayer is very difficult …almost impossible. Although called, “The Prayer of the Heart,” the words of the prayer all up in the head. The tedium and the seeming monotony is very wearisome.
But if you keep on working on it, soon, with a flood of great warmth, the mind sinks down into the heart where the words of the Prayer, “Lord Jesus Christ Son of God Have Mercy on Me,” pulsate effortlessly like a quiet, bubbling, murmuring brook. Aah…
Oh, it’s the Semitron! It’s midnight! Gotta go! It’s time for Church!

I started my monastic “communal” career in a Greek Orthodox Monastery at the age of 46 in 1996 until 2005 when Christ called me into a public ministry.
But I still maintain a monastic life complete with a prayer rule as assigned to me by my Superiors which includes fasting, a one-meal-a-day Vegan diet, 2 hours of the Jesus Prayer daily, prostrations and Spiritual reading (no Television viewing.)
AND – I work for a living putting hours upon hours into these Videos and the Articles as well as the Street Evangelism I conduct daily.

The Ladder of Divine Ascent
There are not two separate spiritualities in the Orthodox Church – one for monastics and another for lay people. Monastics are in a position to lead the way for the rest of us who struggle along in our own spiritual lives while we try to follow our “older brothers and sisters.”
So, thank you +Brother Nathanael for giving us insight into the daily life of a monk.
As the Prolegomena to Monastic Wisdom, The Letters of Elder Joseph the Hesychast, Dr. Constantine Cavarnos says the beginning of the spiritual path is self-examination with a view to self-knowledge. With this knowledge you become the wisest man. With this awareness, you reach humility and receive grace from the Lord.
Elder Joseph placed great emphasis on the need of becoming aware of our passions and proceeding to struggle to overcome them, to free ourselves from them to attain “passionlessness,” which means purity.
Passion in Orthodox Patristic writings, is a term used in two senses: l. to denote bad thoughts charged with emotion and 2. to describe vices where such thoughts become habits or bad traits of character. All the passions are viewed by Elder Joseph as “diseases of the soul” in need of therapy.
“Man’s most precious possession is his soul, which is immortal; he must take care of it. It means striving to purify it of all the passions, and to adorn it with all the virtues, which perfect it as far as is possible during our life on the earth.
As from sleep we shall wake up into the other life. Then we will see parents, brothers, relatives. Then we will see angels and saints.
We shall converse with them as with brothers, giving one another a divine embrace, and continuously wondering at the heavenly choirs, until we reach our Master and Saviour, and thenceforeth remain inseparable.”

The one thing that puzzles me about the monastic life is the continual sequestration in one place for one’s entire life, when in fact the Scriptures tell us to go out and fulfill the great commission and bring in the harvest.
It strikes me that after spending years in preparation, the Lord decided to send you out into the world to implement His command to share the Gospel, and especially in your case where you hold the banner of Christ in the heart of Satan’s domain, New York’s Time Square.
Let that anointing fall on hundreds of other monastics. Your powerful example has motivated many of us to also lay our lives down for the sake of Christ’s purposes as we prepare for His triumphant return.
You think weight lifters and athletes are real men?
Not in comparison to the true manhood and spirituality it takes to live this monastic lifestyle. I sure don’t have the discipline and dedication to live as they do. I would feel like a real wimp in their presence.
No wonder those NYC yids run like hell when +BN makes the sign of the cross and stares them down.
They and the rest of the apostates who suck up to them for financial gain are going to run like hell one day and find it.
Christ The Redeemer will indeed return in total glory with the heavenly hosts to kick butt, take names, and toss them into the Lake of Fire after they finally confess that Christ is indeed KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

I forgot to mention that I love the monastic art. I know someone who uses monastic artwork paintings of Archangel Gabriel as well as Christ on his on his computers for background images in a public school classroom.
He is sickened by seeing various students coming to school every day wearing t-shirts with satanic stars, and death metal “music.”
No explanations or lessons are given concerning the images and no one says anything. He also likes to rotate with Carl Bloch paintings such as “Christ Clearing the Temple.”
He tells me that this somewhat serves as a spiritual/psychological release mechanism from being surrounded by the inanity of the talmudic controlled “education system.”
He will continue to do it as long as he can get away with it he says.

I recall a documentary about another monk who lived in the Antarctic alone. How does one get such a setup? Would be quite relaxing IMHO.
And keep the Orthodox thing alive and well, the Catholics seem too organized and media savvy (Machivellian-ish, tacky even?) while the Protestants are just too riddled with Wacos or other scandals and Church of England just for the English alone.
I am Polytheistic btw, but barring the language barrier, Orthodox seems to be the most spiritual and sincere (although with a very authoritarian and VERY slightly sinister feel) among all denominations.
It would be nice to leave this sick world and find a place where you can find yourself, in a peaceful setting.
The world I live in is filled with helicopters buzzing in the middle of the night, traffic, noise, and confusion. This is truly not the way to live.
The upheaval and lack of tranquility builds like an accelerating pulse train in an LC resonant circuit until you become a numb zombie, wondering how in God’s universe you wound up here, now.
We all have a calling in this world to prove our worth, and it looks like Bro. Nathanael found it, but for some of us, it is difficult to find.
Whilst I as a Catholic am outside the Orthodox Charism it is good that it appears the Orthodox church did not have its “Vatican II” – “abomination of desolation” -” moment.”
This devastation was so great that Our lady appeared at Garabandal (look it up) in Spain for the entire length of the Council, about 4 years from 1961-1965, to try to bring the church back to the correct path.
They did not listen to her despite 2000 or so apparitions at Garabandal in that time.
But Garabandal and its message persists and is relevant even more now than it was then in terms of the apocalyptic fullfillment of all that she said would happen, if she was not listened to, and she wasn’t.

I was with the Greek Orthodox Church for many years and now am with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROCOR) where my home parish is the headquarters in NYC.
Greeks look “Mediterranean” and NOT at all like pale Jewish-Ashkenazim. NO relation whatsoever. +bn

There has been only one known instance of a human being coming back from the dead and appearing to another person.
That was recorded in the Book of 1 Samuel 28.
The Prophet Samuel appeared to King Saul, when the King disobeyed God and went to an Astrologer to inquire about whether he should go out to fight the Philistines.
Of course this was done because God had left him due to his disobedience.
Samuel had been in a place called Paradise, a place where Christians were sent, down through the centuries, after they died to wait for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
God made this happen for a purpose. Normally this never happened but it did this one time for a reason.
When Jesus Christ died on the Cross, He said it was finished. That meant the work was complete.
No other work was needed. The Unblemished Lamb of God was sacrificed for the sins of the world and this act, would save those who would believe.
When Christ died, the veil to the Temple was torn from top to bottom to signify, the end of the Levitical priesthood and to tell the world that all men have a Priest now and His Name is Jesus Christ.
So now we may all approach the Throne of God with our petitions in prayer, through our High Priest Jesus Christ.
With the death of Christ and His Resurrection, the place called Paradise was dissolved and all of the people that were in it, went to heaven.
People in heaven cannot come back to this life. Mary was a human being. She died and went to heaven because she herself accepted Christ as her personal Savior.
The work has been completed. Jesus said that I and the Father are one. He who has seen Me has seen the Father. Jesus was the Word. The Bible says that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
When the Work of the Word was completed, there was no need for anymore revelations to men.
To know the Will of God, all a man has to do is read His Word. It is so simple, yet so profound.
+Brother Nathanael highlighted icon painting as a source of livelihood for the monastery. I have been smitten with this subject ever since I began my Orthodox journey late last year.
An integral part of Orthodoxy that was new to me coming from a Protestant background is the veneration of icons. The word icon means image, representation, or portrait.
I thought that such images were contrary to Scripture. So did many Christians over the centuries and even today some Protestants make accusations against the Orthodox use of icons.
The key is the icon itself is not worshiped. It is the spiritual content of the images that is venerated. St. Basil the Great said that the veneration given to the image is transferred to the prototype. He speaks about icons, first and foremost, as devotional images, a window to the other world.
When the Divine Word became flesh, it became capable of being depicted also. This is why St John of Damascus wrote:
“When you see the incorporeal become flesh for your sake, then depict the likeness of Him who has appeared. When He Who, by virtue of the superiority of His nature, lacks body and form, quantity and quality, and dimension, Who, being in the form of God, took upon himself the form of a servant (Phil. 2, 6-7), and in so doing became limited both quantitatively and qualitatively and assumed human form, then sketch on panels and display for the contemplation of Him who did so desire to reveal Himself.”
Icons reveal the Kingdom to come. Icons began to be painted in order to show this other world, the new heaven and the new earth, where Christ’s victory is complete, the victory of good over evil, life over death.
Because of this, icons are different including space and time. The logic of the earthly world does not extend to icons, a fact stressed by reverse perspective. There is no single point on the horizon where all lines meet, and in which the objects get larger, rather than smaller, as they recede into the distance.
Icons include events that have taken place at different times and in different places. Icons represent light and not darkness. Therefore, the figures do not cast shadows. Saints are also depicted from the viewpoint of eternity: free of blemishes, both physical and emotional; they are inspired.
Orthodox icons are based on belief in the Incarnation, which not only does not deny the flesh, but sanctifies it and gives it a new higher meaning.
Icons reveal the face of a dweller in paradise, not of an earthly person. While iconography does not ignore a saint’s individual features and external distinguishing marks (sex, age, hairstyle, headwear, etc.) the saint is depicted as transfigured, remote from earthly passions. He already belongs to a different world and looks down on us from there which is why icons never portray emotions or passions.
Eyes are of special importance. The well-known expression that the eyes are the window of the soul applies perfectly to the icon. The eyes reveal the sanctity of what is represented, the light-bearing quality. The accent on the eyes creates the impression that rather than you looking at the icon, the icon is looking at you.
This is an almost inexhaustible topic. Many wonderful books have been published on icon techniques, history, and theological principles. I reference A History of Icon Painting, published by Grand-Holding Publishers, Moscow 2007, as the source for my extracts above.
I have purchased many of my own icons from http://www.Skete.com There you will find a wide selection at reasonable prices. I have shopped around. However, if anyone of you knows of a “better” source of icons please share it.
Icons have added an immeasurable influence to my prayer life at home. I highly recommend all who desire a more profound experience to add icons to their prayer wall. While you venerate the holy images also receive the grace that flows from them into your soul.

You are making it much more complicated than it needs to be really. God is spirit. God is Perfect.
When a man prays, God cannot hear his prayer because man is imperfect. We are on different wavelengths.
So this is why the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf as told by the Apostle Paul, in the Book of Romans 8:26…
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
So to me, icons are not needed. But if you feel they help you, then by all means.
Since this is kind of a religious thread, I also must say another thing. Someone said a while back that they thought Protestants hated Catholics.
I can tell you from my own experience, that I have never heard anyone in any church ever talk bad about Catholics, not once, ever.
The main focus in church is supposed to be soul winning and this is the kind of atmosphere that I have been around most of my life.
Being a Protestant, all my life, I am one of the very, very few, who walked out of the neocon fog, I am here to tell you.
So I get into the Patriot movement (whatever that is) and I run into militant Catholics trying to hit me over the head all the time with the Latin viewpoints on things.
It does get a bit tiresome at times, to say the least.
As far as Orthodox people are concerned, I never really had many dealings with them over the years. I grew up in Houston, Texas.
I think they have probably two Orthodox Churches there. I think I used to go over there on some of their feast days and have some good food etc.
In Houston, the Greek people all know about each other and keep up with each other, no matter what their lot in life.

Regarding the veneration of ICONS throughout the EASTERN Church, it was the Bishop of Rome, Pope Gregory II of the WESTERN Church who defended with FULL Papal acceptance and approval the truly devout Religious and Laity of the EASTERN Church use of, promotion of, production of and veneration of ICONS in the face of the POLITICAL and MILITARY threats of the Eastern Empire’s Emperor Leo III and his ‘spiritual counselor’, the agitating (as always seems to be the case in the East/West Schisms) Eastern Church’s heretical NESTORIAN Bishop, Xenaeas of Hieropolis.

In the Western Church, the readily available GOD-GIVEN raw natural material used by craftsmen and skilled artists was quarried MARBLE. That is the reason why RELIGIOUS STATUES are to be predominately found in the Christian Churches of THE WEST.
In THE EAST, because MARBLE was not a readily available, the skilled craftsmen and artisans used EARTH MINERALS with which to make COLORED PAINTS of all sorts and types while using natural WOODS and FIBERS to express their own personal Christian spirituality in the production of ICONS.
In the ‘General/Universal SPIRITUALITY’ of both the Western and Eastern Christian Churches, the absolute Central Doctrinal Assertion is that GOD HIMSELF took on our VERY ‘material’ and VERY ‘physical’ human nature in what is defined as ‘The Incarnation’.
Hence, GOD HIMSELF full approves of MATTER so much so that He Himself UNITED Himself, through His Only Eternally Begotten Son JESUS, Second Divine Person of the Unseen Godhead, the Blessed Trinity, with MATTER.
The proper and devout use of MATTER to depict any and all IMAGES of the Supernatural Fact-of-Religious-Life of GOD’S OWN participation in, use of and manifestations with MATTERS lies at the very heart and the very spiritual core of the veneration of ICONS, the veneration of STATUES and the use of such material things such as WATER and SALT and OIL and BREAD and WINE in the Christian Church’s spiritual life and communal WORSHIP of God in Our Lord JESUS Christ’s SACRAMENTS of His Very Own NEW COVENANT with all of Mankind.
In the EASTERN CHURCH, such religious ICONS produced by the MONKS of the Eastern Church undergo a ‘Chrismation’ by the local ABBOT over that particular Monastery OR by a properly consecrated BISHOP.
It is upon this ‘CHRISMATION’ that the particular Icon in question undergoes by either the local ABBOT or by a BISHOP that the ICON is imbued with ‘the spirit’ of that particular Saint or Angel or Divine Person the Icon depicts or visually represents.
Such CAN BE DONE and truly DOES HAPPEN during such ‘Chrismations’ of ANY Icon produced by the MONKS of the Eastern Church, that the ‘material’ of that Icon becomes spiritually ‘imbued’ with the SPIRIT of the Angel, Saint or Divine Person the crafted/painted Icon image represents.
And the ‘Spiritual Authority’ with which THAT occurs on, with and over ANY Icon produced by those of the Eastern Church has at its foundation the Divine-Supernatural Doctrinal-Dogmatic-Creedal TRUTH that GOD HIMSELF took on our human nature – that He Himself chose to become INFUSED INTO living and alive ‘human bodily MATTER’ in the Womb of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the WOMAN spoken about in Genesis 3:15 and Revelation 12:17.
And at ALL of the Masses and Divine Liturgies of BOTH the Western and Eastern Churches, it is JESUS HIMSELF Who Is GOD INCARNATE Who, once again, unites HIS DIVINE SPIRIT into the MATERIAL of ‘Matter’ of the Bread and Wine consecrated into His Body and Blood by the officiating PRIEST at the Christian Church’s ALTAR.
The Church’s ‘EUCHARIST’ is the LIVING and BREATHING ‘Icon’ of the Divine Presence of GOD HIMSELF among us men, women and children of our ENTIRE Human Race!

Bill, it is not that Protestants talk bad about Catholics, they don’t understand “intercession” also the concept of “statues” in Catholic churches.
Many others outside of the Protestant religion don’t understand it either, and as usual, the Jew takes this misunderstanding and twists your mind with it through brainwashing, usual subliminally, without you even realizing it.
Why you say “you have no knowledge of Protestants bad mouthing Catholic” their protocols or procedures.
Intercession: is a request through a prayer, or more as you put it, someone closer to God’s DIVINE wavelength, or closer to the
Holy Spirit of God to INTERCEDE for you to God, on your behalf, to listen to your humble prayer. Most use Mary, or a saintly figure dear to them.
Statues are just a “TRIBUTE” to Christian, and angelic figures, for the sacrifices they have made to put you closer to that DIVINE wavelength, you speak of.
I repeat, NO TRUE CATHOLIC PRAYS TO STATUES, OR DIRECTLY TO MARY INSTEAD OF GOD, OR THE HOLY SON, EVER THAT I KNOW OF!!
But through our wonderful Zionist Jew media, they portray Catholics when not being pedophiles, or evil, as praying to statutes and supplementing God with Mary, like John Hagee preaches.

In a way I envy you, but then again, our God the Father has granted me a different path. Yet, again, in Orthodoxy, even in a family, the struggle is to make a little monastery out of your home…

A small little bit about icons.
In the Septuagint, the only true version of the Old Testament, as written in Greek by Hebrews according to their old and still Holy Tradition, states in Greek that man was created:
“κάθ εικόναν καί ομοίωσην”
Which literally means: “according to His ICON and likeness”
The word εικόνα (ikona), literally means Icon which is generally understood to mean image. But in the Greek, there is no distinction between the words image and icon as there is today in English.
Thus, in Orthodoxy, in this context, we look at the life of a Christian as the struggle to become Icons of Christ, not just by name, since`we have all disfigured this icon, but in substance as well.
And of course, Orthodox as well as Catholics, do NOT worship the image/icon, that is ridiculous to claim. No one would claim that one is worshiping the photo or image of their loved ones (whether passed or alive), but in the case of the Saints, they are happy to call it ‘worship,’ instead of what it really is.
That is only one of the things that are said by some people to avoid getting closer to the original faith. And if one happens to do this as an individual and in an individual circumstance, rest assured that they are told immediately and clearly that this is wrong.
We Orthodox, and for that matter, albeit a bit differently, remember the CHAMPIONS of the Greatest Struggle there EVER was, and that is to live according to the laws of God until the moment of Death. We ascribe reverence and love to our Martyrs, Teachers and Defenders of the Faith, Monks, and other Saints, and we DO NOT forget them in this way.
In addition we KNOW as FACT, that they indeed can and WILL intercede for us, and therefore we ask them.
However look at the western, watered down denominations, they have forgotten their own benefactors, they have forgotten who they were and what they were told by them. They have forgotten their example, and their lives.
It is sad to see so many people in the west, who are called Anthony, or Nicolas, or Steven or Humphrey (Saint Onoufrios), Basil, Greg (Gregorius), Katherine, Anastasia, etc. etc. and at the same time, they have completely FORGOTTEN who these people they are named after were, and what their lives were.
If nothing else, keeping an Icon of their Saints next to them, would remind them a bit of what REALLY matters in this life.
I mean, it is really sad, people even think that “Santa Claus” — who is really Saint Nicolas — was. People are beginning to think that he is some kind of mythical creature…
And even though they are central to the Scriptures, they have even forgotten the examples given to us by the lives of Mary the mother of God, Saint John, and so many other people that are mentioned in the Bible. And part of the reason for this, is the total removal of icons from their lives. And it was a removal, because at some point their ancestors were ALL Orthodox and as such, they would have some kind of Icon.
Thus, one immediately can see that, to an Orthodox, it is natural not to shy away from “icons,” since whether we produce them or not, we will still be surrounded by them, and by this I mean our fellow brothers and sisters. True Saints cannot help but seeing the Christ’s image in all our brothers and sisters, however faded. Not an easy feat, I know.
On the other hand, in the west we find many “Christians” who extravagantly worship Jews as at least “superior humans” and at most “God on earth” today, and no one of them notices that particular kind of idolatry.
As far as requesting intercession from the Saints, this is totally Scripturally supported, and it is mentioned in Luke 16, which is another one of these passages that many shun away from, in case the truth gets out and they have to “revisit” their convictions:

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Thus here we can see, that it is possible for the Saints to hear us ask them to intercede for us in heaven. But again, in Orthodoxy the Bible is not the beginning and end of everything.
We have Holy Tradition, which as a whole (and not just the Bible) the Holy Spirit has granted us.
The Bible is then part of this Holy Tradition, and thus as smaller part of a greater collection of experiences, it is not our only source of information. From this greater Holy Tradition, one can easily see the value of interceding by our Saints.
It is a sad and great loss, in my opinion, to be oblivious to the Holy Tradition that brought forth the Bible.

This is what happens when the state and the church cooperate in many ways.

The Church agitated relentlessly that they deserved their cash dividend as a thanks for providing the Greeks with spiritual guidance (loose paraphrasing).
All this whilst embroiled in the Vatopodi Scandal which saw them aquire about €1bn of state property for nothing from gov’t ministers (Michael Lewis Vanity Fair article has an excellent summary on it).
The state pays all of the priests salaries & all other income they raise is tax-free & they have enormous land holdings (the entire 3rd peninsular of Chalkidiki is theirs – 336 square kms!!, they even forbid women entering).

Nobody can expect to get the full truth about the Vatopaidi situation, from Vanity Fair. I mean you would not trust anything else from that kind of publication I hope, right?

The whole West, has separated Church from State. This may be stated on paper, or a de facto situation. It does not matter.
The result? Complete and total corruption of the Christianity in favour of Atheism, which is really a form of Satanism, and materialism.
Examples: Britain, where Christianity is a declining “religion.” People don’t even know or care what denomination they are. In Britain, church buildings are left empty, and people don’t even mind.
Interestingly, the only Christian denomination on the rise in the UK is Orthodoxy, whether Russian, Greek or otherwise.
USA, where Christianity is also declining and transformed slowly but surely, into a forbidden “ideology” with one of it’s “features” being passed as being an antisemetic “religion.” The time will come when the ADL will try to say that the Bible is anti-Semetic, wait for it…
Thus, one may ask, is really the separation of Church and State better than non-separation? You be the judge. You cannot take one side without presenting the reality of the other side. And the reality is that the West, with it’s “modern” separation, has managed too, to destroy what little of the Faith was left.
On the other hand, we have the greatest success, the greatest empire and power even to exists for nearly 1000 years, where the Church was an inseparable part of the state. No, it was not the USA, since the USA has been in existence for only roughly two centuries.
No, it was the Byzantine Empire, which along with it’s errors and mistakes and sometimes questionable few events and leaders, has managed to establish Christianity in this world.
So, perhaps it’s best to re-evaluate your opinion that separation of Church and State is a good thing.
And one more thing. Separation of Church and State is not really what it sounds like… What it REALLY is, it is the binding of the SYNAGOGUE Of SATAN and State, instead of the Church… You really have to ask yourself, is there really a complete decoupling of religion from the state in your country? Or is it only Christianity that has been rooted out?
You cannot have nothing. You always have to have something. If you are not bound with God formally and openly, then you are bound with the Devil if only implicitly.
Thus any country or state that pretends to be “separate” from the Church, it is really and in actuality connecting and siding itself with SATAN… Face it, it is Scriptural, and even if it was not, it is plain logical.
It’s so simple, there is no other way to look at it.
So, let’s recap:
Separation of Church and State is:
1) Allegiance of the State to the Jew World Order.
2) Allegiance to the Devil instead of God.

Union of Church and State:

The other comment about Dr. Martin Luther was that he was ‘baptized again.’ This is a Protestant lie.
Luther AGONIZED over his baptism, because he was a catholic Christian, and KNEW that ‘baptism saves’ as the Scripture says.
What he did was pray and ask God’s guidance, writing over and over again the phrase, ‘baptizatus sum ‘ (I have been baptized). And, just as within the Orthodox Church and her doctrine of acribea and economia, Luther did not seek to be ‘re-baptized.’

This decision did thereby NOT void the swaps involving the exchange of properties that were initially presented via the Mass Media as some kind of scandal.
In addition, some of the various journalists who propagated the situation as a scandal, especially those of the Alpha channel, were charged fines, for slander against various people. The fines were, by mandate, given to charities.
The Church in Greece has given more than 95% of it’s property (given to the Church by the many benefactors over the years). That includes land and buildings that are used as Government buildings, Hospitals, etc. etc.

A singer I’ve admired and been blessed is John Michael Talbot. Somewhere after his conversion he became a monk..of some kind.
I was raised in a Christian denomination that has priests and monks. I think John believed it was the best life style to concentrate on his calling of music and worship. It would not be the lifestyle for myself, but I enjoyed the departure from the usual and appreciate Br. Nathanael sharing his faith and experience from the monastery.
Thank you!…and agree I would not trust VF reporting as balanced journalism. It is a distraction from more important things. I once was in a “prayer seminar” by an evangelical. Prayer was a major part of his life for years. He was taken aback one day when a friend gave him tape of Bishop Fulton Sheen. I think I can comment freely for I was raised Catholic, but no longer am and I am a born again believer.
A major part of the teaching shared was about this Bishop’s prayer life. There is no question he had a deep love and relationship with Jesus Christ. I think there are things we can learn from each other.
As this protestant minister listened and learned from the tape from a Catholic, the Lord impressed him that “it was the Blood of Christ that cleanses — nothing else”…one of the greatest Christian experiences were the letters of Br. Lawrence known as “The Practice of the Presence of God,” interestingly it was Protestants more than Catholics that latched onto and promoted it.
The incredible writings on prayer of Jeane Guyon were rounded up and burned by village priests and she later imprisoned in the Bastille..why?

Recently a friend was touting support for Jews and all things Jewish because of the verse “to the Jew first” regarding the preaching of the Gospel.

Islam does not have a true revelation of God or who Jesus really is. But they do not seem to exhibit pure hatred that seems to emanate from Jewish doctrine like the Talmud, and the recent video of an Israeli children’s TV program “Toffee and the Guirrilla” (I think) on Youtube. Nor on the scale they do through media talents etc.

It seems that I inspire in people both great love and great hatred including so-called Orthodox Christians.
St Paul, (though I do not dare compare myself with him), often stated that his enemies were “from within.”
As regards my using the 60 Minute Clips there are tons of clips from 60 Minutes up on YouTube and the “fair use” rule comes into play so I doubt that I will have any problems. YouTube has already offered me “revenue sharing” on this Video so they are well aware of my using the 60 Minutes Clips as are all my viewers.
If this so-called Orthodox Christian wishes to take this Video down then it will be on that person’s head as many have already inquired of me by email expressing keen interest in Orthodoxy and Orthodox monasticism. It would be on that person’s head that many who would write to me in the future would be denied this venue that gives exposure to Orthodoxy. I pity this person if that does happen.
As regards my standing in ROCOR I am a member in good standing of the ROCOR parish in Manhattan, the Cathedral, “Our Lady Of The Sign,” so I doubt that this nasty person will have any luck there in defaming me. What a monk from the Esfigmenou Monastery on the Mount Athos said to me before some years:
The Jesus Christ prayer is the SUMMARY of the whole Bible.
The first desert fathers prayed the WHOLE prayer, it was this: “Lord our Jesus Christ, Son and Logos of the God, have mercy on me (eleison me) and forgive me the sinner.” Now we became too lazy to say it all, and some just say “Kyrie eleison” without to know, who this Kyrios is.
In naming both Jesus AND Christ, we confess the two natures (physis) of the incarnated Son. We confess that God was incarnated.
Naming Son of God, we can do it (according the Holy Scriptures) only with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That means in this way we confess the Holy Trinity too! Eleison (mercy) means that He is God, then only God can give us mercy. And forgiveness is only from God too.
The prayer is not to compare with buddistic mantras, like some “Christian” protestants mention in their books.
The prayer is a gift, not everyone can have it. The Holy Spirit comes with gifts, according to the Holy Scriptures, but not everyone gets the same gifts.
It is not easy to pray it because IT BURNS the DEVIL!
About the forum Wallace mentioned, I spend not much time to understand that it may be a Uniate (Catholics who pretend to be Orthodox) Forum, in which Orthodox users are banned!
For example the forum users agrees that Christ founded the Church on Peter and they claim that even all the Orthodox Patriarch and Church Fathers did it too.

I am not sure I like that forum either. A lot that is posted there is indeed fishy.
There’s also a lot of people nicknamed “Byzantine Christian” etc. which to people in the know refers to “Byzantine Catholic” which is really a masqueraded type of Catholic Papism, aka Uniates, which is a disgrace. (And please, I am not going to respond to anyone trying to defend or comment on this post because I mentioned the word “Papism,” this post is about something completely different)
Things mentioned on that site page that I did not like, are for example that:
1) Not all Jews are Zionists.
Well, a Jew is primarily someone who identifies themselves with Judaism. If they are not, then regardless of their racial origin, they are no longer Jews. Not in the full sense of the word anyway.
People who identify themselves with Judaism are — necessarily — Zionists. There is no other way about it. Whether they know it or not. How much more simply can I put it, they expect the Anti-Christ to rule all of us from Jerusalem (Zion). They may hide it, avoid it, try to forget it, but it’s there, and therefore they are Zionist.
2) That Br. Nathanael was doing something inappropriate for an Orthodox.
That’s plain nonsense. He is doing what most of us are too afraid to do, and that is get out and tell the truth!!!
Many of our Saints have done this and it is therefore that they are now Saints. Indeed, many Saints have done far more shocking things than the things that Br. Nathanael has done. (and really, getting out and holding the Cross and some signs and trying to get people’s attention is not that extreme anyway).
In addition, ALL that Br. Nathanael writes here is TRUTH, as it is supported by irrefutable facts.
Any Christian, who sits there in their comfortable chairs reading this, must try to put themselves in the shoes of someone like Br Nathanael. And then think again, if they would be able to leave the traditions they were raised in, be denied by friends and family and having to deal with huge temptations, fuelled by emotional blackmail and pressures and doubts, even if momentarily…
Would any of us, really, REALLY be prepared to do the same for the Truth Who is Jesus Christ?
On the other hand, it’s easy to judge from a position of “safety”. But in reality NO ONE is safe in their convictions, even if the convictions are 100% right, we are STILL to make them a reality with our actions. An example of this, is Br. Nathanael.
I say BRAVO Br. Nathanael, PLEASE continue what you do for your Country and by extensions for the Whole World!!!

2) This guy “Marc” who later claims to be a Jew who converted to Orthodoxy really has it out for Br. Nathanael. He is proof of someone who converted to Christianity but still retains his “Jewish” identity.
He is using his “status” as an Orthodox Christian and “connections” within the church to wage war against Br. Nathanael. This guy “Marc” is a false Christian, regardless if he was baptised.
3) These Jews are everywhere. Yes, we knew they were in the Roman Catholic Church but they are in the Orthodox Church as well.

That forum is a free and open platform for people to post whatever they like.
Just as Georgios I too, find a lot of what is posted there, at least questionable.
There is no doubt in my mind that a lot of these people that profess to be Orthodox or even Christians are not what they seem to be.
In addition, there are multiple places, where members of the Roman religious community (posing as Byzantine Catholics which is really the Uniate church which is a massive disgrace) are also causing issues with the age old issues between the OC and the RC by putting questions as if they are just seekers.
From the short time I spent reading the stuff there, it seems like a chaotic place with lots of conflicting opinions posted from every category of people and ideologies.
There are certainly Orthodox people posting there, but there are most certainly a lot of other people there who’s motives are clearly not benign.
As mentioned here before, most practising Orthodox, are not only well aware of the JWO, but they are very well informed on the core issues.
Greece is just about the only European country where the truth can still be told on the Mass Media about the Jews, masons and the new world order, even though there is fierce resistance from the regime here.

There does not seem to be a site for Catholics to discuss our faith whilst fighting against the Jews.
Most of the sites are comprised of anti-Catholics that claim to be White supremacists but are actually just cowardly Whites that don’t do anything except complain.

The basic aspect of the material, physical world is its obedience to the law of causal necessity. Its essence lies in the fact that every action has an external cause, that is, if a stone flies through the air, it did not launch itself, but was thrown by an external agent.
Every day, the Sun rises, and every day is replaced by night, night by day; each day is filled with activities, and these arise one after another; every day, a person needs to go to work, and so forth.
Everything proceeds in a seemingly unavoidable stream of causal necessity; meanwhile many say: “What can I do? I would like to go to church more often, but I have no time; I would pray regularly to God, but again, I have little time.” Thus it is for people who have joined this physical current of causal necessity.
We have become accustomed to the law of causal necessity and often refer to it for self-justification, even when there is no need. The first one to show us this poor example was our ancestor, Adam, who committed sin by violating the commandment of the Lord.
When the Lord reproached him, yet gave him the opportunity to repent, he did not deem himself guilty, but immediately referred to the law of causal necessity: “The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.”
In this way we often emulate Adam; instead of admitting our guilt, we seek it to find it outside of ourselves: this happened to me because of this, or that, or for some other reason.

Man must resist this causal dependence, and this is the only path to spiritual freedom, and only in spiritual freedom can we experience Divine bliss and blessedness from contact with God.
We live within time and we must exploit it as much as we can for our salvation.
The future has no power over us, since it is unknown to us. When it becomes known, it moves to the category of the present.
The present stands before us and demands that we make decisions. Our challenge is to act in order that it work for good and for the salvation of our soul.
The past moves into the region of necessity: what has transpired, we cannot change, we cannot erase, and when the past is filled with sins, it serves as a special burden on the soul, and often determines the behavior of the person in the future.
We cannot alter the past—that is a law of time. But the law of time is a physical law, while the spirit, as we said, does not submit to it, so in the spiritual plane, we can change the past.

European Campaign to End the Siege on Gaza Confirms that the French Ship “Dignity” has Set Sail
Brussells – PNN – The European Campaign to End the Siege on Gaza (ECESG) confirmed on Tuesday that the French ship “Dignity,” which is part of Freedom Flotilla II, has in fact set sail to the besieged Gaza Strip while the rest of the flotilla ships remain trapped in Athens, banned from sailing.
In a press release issued today, Rami Abdo, spokesman for ECESG, said that the French Ship “Dignity,” or “Karama” in Arabic, has left the French port of Corscica and is now in international waters sailing to the Gaza Strip.
“Dignity” has six crew members and is carrying aid supplies to Gaza. The ship was forbidden from leaving in the past few weeks after a campaign by pro-Israeli groups in France was launched against it. ECESG considers the launch of the ship to be a victory over the pro-Israeli campaign.
The vessel’s passengers include Olivier Besancenot, head of the New Left Party in France, French politician and member of the European Parliament Nicole Kiil-Nilsen, and other well-known French personalities.
While “Dignity” is at sail, at least eight ships of Freedom Flotilla II are still stuck in Athens as the Greek government has succumbed to Israeli and US pressure to ban them from sailing.

Agree that many non-Catholics do not understand the Virgin Birth–Jesus conceived by the Holy Spirit and Joseph as his foster father, the intercession of Mary and her place next to Jesus, assumed into heaven.
Mary is a much more important figure in the Catholic Church and revered as a Queen unlike the other churches.
I think some non-Catholics do have an appreciation for this understanding, but many don’t.
On another note, we signed my daughter up for Vacation Bible School this summer and invited her friend. Her mother declined saying the focus was too much on religion. What would you expect a Bible School to be focused on?
