    Botching A Coup In Venezuela

    All the nuts and bolts are nailed into Trump’s attempted coup in Venezuela.

    Pasting the narrative, “Maduro Must Go,” with those frightful stickers:
    “Dictator,” “Tyrant,” “Regime Commandant”…

    …Trump wraps the package with a picked pawn, Juan Guaido—a self-proclaimed president without a palace or a pot to piss in except the urinal of the Columbian Embassy in Caracas.

    He’s very presidential for a young kid who’s dribble is only surpassed by his script writers out of Miami and DC.

    [Clip: “Guaido, I wonder if you can in English give a message to the American people about your goals for Venezuela. What would you like the American people to know about what is happening there.” “Em, well, I want to thank you for this interview. I want to talk to the American people who want to help us to recover our democracy, our liberty. And I know, em, maybe, do you know some Venezuelan people in your country, you know that all, that they’re good people. And we are, and we want to reconstruct our country and our liberty.”]

    Well, he’s the president appointed by Trump.

    He’s a ‘democratic’ dictator!

    And liberty? For who?

    Venezuelans or the high rollers on Wall Street. Read: Jewish finance capital writ large.

    You see, Guaido just announced he would open up Venezuela’s national oil, PDVSA, to private oil companies like Exxon and BP—financed by Wall Street—and then stiff Petro China and Russia’s Rosneft.

    Bolton, who shills for the Zionist Organization of America, likes it like that.

    [Clip: “We’re in conversation with major American companies now that are either in Venezuela or in the case of CITGO, here in the United States. I think we are trying to get to the same end result here. You know, Venezuela is one of the three countries I call the ‘troika of tyranny’. It will make a big difference to the United States economically if we could have American oil companies really invest in and produce the oil capabilities in Venezuela.”]

    It’s outright theft.

    But theft does the trick for those who buy shares in Big Oil.

    Confiscation by any other name smells the same.

    It’ll be a repeat of Libya, which with Gadhafi gone, the people lost their national oil wealth—the largest in Africa—free medical and education grants, marriage subsidies with $50,000 for a first home, and a range of loans at 0% interest.

    A similar fate awaits Venezuela where all proceeds will end up in foreign pockets.

    Enter Guaido’s economic hit men and architects of the White House ‘Venezuela Project,’ Harvard professor Ricardo Hausmann, former Venezuela’s economic minister, and Moises Naim, former Venezuelan trade minister—both in office prior to the late 90’s election of Hugo Chavez.

    These guys, both Jewish, with Hausmann, a “shock doctrine” expert, and Naim, who provides Guaido with a stylish advisory veneer, are on the team that makes regime change a diabolic affair.

    There’s Eliot Abrams too, Trump’s pick to bring ‘democracy’ to Venezuela, who with his role in Latin America’s Dirty Wars, spat all over democracy which left some 75,000 murdered in El Salvador.

    You will know imperialism by its trail of the dead.

    The devil’s in the details.

    [Clip: “Yesterday, the Devil came here. Right here! Right here. And it smells of sulphur still today. This table that I’m now standing in front of, yesterday, ladies and gentlemen, from this rostrum, the president of the United States, the gentlemen whom I refer as the Devil, came here talking as if he owned the world. Truly, as the owner of the world. I think we could call a psychiatrist to analyze yesterday’s statement made by the president of the United States. As the spokesman of imperialism, he came to share his nostrums. To try to preserve current patterns of domination, exploitation, and pillage of the peoples of the world.”]

    That devil’s all dressed up today with no place to go except to dominate and steal.

    He’s wrapped in an American flag, and appears in the likeness of a State Department buffoon, a nasty thing at National Security, and a criminal with neocon credentials inscribed in blood.

    The devil’s headed south of the border to pillage in a way never seen before in an ‘in-your-face’ coup to cripple Venezuela’s economy, serve up a despised Maduro, and as Trump popped off about Iraq, to “take the oil.”

    My take?

    It’s a botched up coup.

    It’s not going the way Bolton expects it to.

    It lacks popular backing, the army rebuffs it, and Guaido’s hyped up protests pale before the packed crowds supporting Maduro.

    While some may be critical of Maduro they favor him a thousand times more than a predatory US intervention.

    They know what happened to Iraq, Syria, and Libya.

    They know the unleashed hell America can wreak.

    In Guaido they’re offer a president without a palace, a wanna-be without a vote, a diplomat without a dossier, a pilot without a plane, a captain without a troop, and an applicant without a pot to piss in except for some urinal in a hideaway embassy.

    Sounds like a propped-up dictator fresh out of prep school to me whose reality show script is emailed from Washington DC.

    Spain church cancels anti-Israel film event under ‘pressure from powerful Jews’
    By Jim W. Dean, Managing Editor – February 5, 201911

    Some Spanish Jews show that “anything goes” when preventing any criticism of Israel, for any reason. Goyim must stick to the approved script.

    … from Press TV, Tehran

    [ Editor’s Note: The Jewish Lobby in Spain is rubbing the Catholic Church’s nose in a big humble pie by intimidating this church for not showing a film – one that won the best documentary award at the Spanish film festival.

    But the bully Jews are losing their mojo. The church-banned film will now get tons of free advertising all over the world, and get a much larger audience than it would have. So, in an unusual twist of fate I will say, “Thank you Jewish bullies, please keep these gaffes coming.”

    As for the poor church and its priests, the Vatican will do nothing, as it is reeling in Europe with empty churches, and will avoid any new battles, while its pedophile scandal continues with an ever-growing list of published priest names.

    The suppression shows that virtually the entire bishop-hood of the church was involved in enabling the crimes for decades by sweeping them under the rug. In the US anyway, we at least have the RICO statute for “running a continuing criminal enterprise”, which garners enhanced sentences.

    If ever there were a group that deserved the full punishment for abetting an international pedophile epidemic inside the church, it is the entire leadership. Frankly the entire church with all its assets should be put into an international court receivership and a Catholic lay administration assigned to continue running what is left of the church.

    A priesthood that allowed this to happen over such a long period should be banned as a threat to communities everywhere. If any other organization had done something like this, that is what would have happened … Jim W. Dean ]

    – First published … February 04, 2019 –

    A Spanish priest says his church canceled the projection of an award-winning documentary on the plight of Palestinians in the Israeli-besieged Gaza Strip due to threats and pressure from “powerful Jews” in the European country.

    Spain’s El Pais newspaper ran an interview with Pastor Javier Baeza, in which the priest criticized “powerful Jews” for exerting pressure, issuing threats, and launching an intimidation campaign against his church over its plan to screen “Gaza, a look into the eyes of barbarism,” Israeli media reported Sunday.

    He said, “There were pressures from the Jewish community” to cancel the screening of the film, which has won the “Best Documentary” category of Spain’s main national annual film festival, the Goya Awards.

    “The heart-rending film is about the Israeli atrocities and human rights violations against the downtrodden Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, which has been under a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007.”

    The documentary was scheduled to be screened on Friday at the Pastoral Center of San Carlos Borrome in southeastern Madrid.

    Carlos Osoro, the archbishop of Madrid, however, said the church was “obligated” to suspend the projection indefinitely due to security concerns “because of the threats we’ve received in the last few days.”

    The Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain said in a statement that the film was being promoted by organizations supporting the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, which he said “seeks to delegitimize Israel and Israelis.”

    The BDS movement is an international campaign launched more than a decade ago with the aim of ending Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories.

    It pursues equal rights for Palestinians by exerting pressure on the Israeli regime via economic and cultural boycotts.

    ‘Nobody ever seems to mention communism and the 100 million poor Russians they slaughtered, not forgetting the gulags.”

    That’s because Z.I.D., the Zionist International Dictatorship, has on their own deemed it anti-Semitic to do so!

    Don’t dare criticize your master Jews and Israel, dont even think about it.

    I’ve noticed the total unmentioning of Communism myself; they are quite literally washing away any memory of it. And I quite guarantee it is working quite well for them. It will only be the “old timers” who carry on the memory of it. (I still remember the drills in grammar school of hiding under our wooden desks with our hands over our heads to ridiculously protect us from atomic bombs that might be dropped from above by the Communist Russki bombers).

    Z.I.D.’s international control of the mass media has turned most younger Americans into not much more than conditioned lab rats in a cage in an experiment.

    The satanic Jews are by the book carrying out what the greatest military strategist who ever lived, Tsung Tzu, whos techniques are still used by our very own military, once famously stated; “The greatest way to win a war is not on the battlefield, its winning over the minds of the populace”.

    We are right now in real time living in a Rod Serling Twilight Zone Orwellian world. the Zionist Monster is rolling over everything and everybody like a steamroller over ants, and nobody and nothing seems to stand in their way except it seems the Palestinians. God bless them.

    I urge everyone to download here the great Rod Serling Twilight Zone episode, The Obsolete Man:
    https://dai.ly/x5c257p,

    A hideous futuristic fascist Orwellian dictatorship has taken over the world, much like the satanic Talmudic Jews’ plan for us. In his prologue, Serling brilliantly and chillingly observes:

    “This is not a new world its simply an extention of what began in the old one, it has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time.

    “It has refinements, technological advances to the destruction of human freedom. but like everyone of the superstates that preceeded it, it has one iron rule, logic is an enemy and truth is a menace”.

    Welcome, goys, to Zio-world.

    Another great episode is The Howling Man:
    https://dai.ly/x5avl4s

    A very real and true rendition of the Jewish devil himself. To his credit the screenwriter, not Serling but Charles Beaumont, made definite references to Judaism, but the censors eliminated them in the final cut.

    You can read between the lines yourself.

    Funny, if “Little Bibi” Bolton, the Israeli spy implanted into our government on the orders of “Big Bibi” Satanyahu, cares so much about US oil companies making money, why doesn’t he let them freely negotiate contracts with Iran instead of bowing down to the economic war crime sanctions which have prevented US companies altogether from making hundreds of millions of dollars, all because of their terror masters in Israel?

  14. STEVEN February 8, 2019 @ 7:37 am

    I noticed that also, Pablo.

    Guaido does resemble Obama, what a coincidence. Yes, that should ring alarm bells with anybody who has any intelligence. It’s just terrible what the parasitic Jew will do for money.

    The only individual who mentioned Communism and the 100 million poor Russians they slaughtered, not forgetting the gulags, was the late Russian writer and historian Alexander Solzhenitsyn. He wrote “The Gulag Archipelago” and “200 Years Together”.

    Br. Nat, I’m beginning to believe that Trump himself has been brainwashed by the same Jews and Trotskyists, not to mention Bonkers Bolton and Pompous Pompass. They’re the ones who’ve been doing most of the brainwashing.

    The sad thing about Trump is that he was brainwashed by these two traitors into calling for regime change in Venezuela. This isn’t the Donald Trump I chose at the ballot box in November, 2016. He failed to oust all the Trotskyists from the White House, and now, he must face the mbaof his attempted coup d’etat in Venezuela.

    Nicolas Maduro’s going nowhere, Brother, he’s the legitimate President of Venezuela. Guaido’s just a puppet and a wannabe dictator hiding out in the Columbian Embassy in Caracas. He’ll never rule Venezuela, he’s stuck inside the Columbian Embassy and knows he’ll be arrested if he left its grounds.

    Trump, too, is a puppet, on Bibzy Nutty-Yahoo’s strings. It’s possible he’ll be a one-term POTUS, despite the SOTU.

    Keep up the good work, Br. Nat, and pray to the Lord Jesus to help you in your ministry. Just remind yourself that miracles do happen. Don’t give up, let Jesus help you.

    God bless you always.

    ALL THE ZIONIST ISRAELI RATS ARE BACK!

    Pompeo, Bolton, And Iran’s “Fake Opposition”

    FEBRUARY 6, 2019

    by Muhammad Sahimi

    As Iranian people struggle for democracy and respect for human rights and the rule of law, as well as preserving the national security and territorial integrity of their country, two main groups have emerged among the opposition to Iran’s hardliners, both within Iran and in the diaspora.

    One group, the true opposition that includes the reformists, religious-nationalists, secular leftists, various labor groups, human rights activists, and others, believes that it is up to the Iranian people living in Iran how to change the political system in their country.

    This group is opposed to foreign intervention, particularly by the United States and its allies, the illegal economic sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran, and the constant threats of military confrontation espoused by John Bolton, President Trump’s national security advisor, and other Iran hawks.

    Many Iranians refer to the second group as the “fake” opposition.

    It consists mostly of the monarchists, some ethnic groups, and the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK), the exiled group that is universally despised in Iran and was on the State Department’s list of “Foreign Terrorist Organizations” from 1997 until 2011.

    It is called the “fake” opposition because it supports the economic sanctions and the threat of military attacks, and has completely aligned itself not only with the Trump administration, but also with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Israel, and endorses their propaganda against Iran.

    This group, whose followers are based mostly in the diaspora, acts more like a lobby for convincing the Iranian people to support the Trump-Mohammed bin Salman(MbS)-Benjamin Netanyahu triangle in their confrontation with Iran, rather than as a group supporting the true opposition within Iran for lasting, irreversible, and positive changes in the political system.

    The harsh economic sanctions imposed on the Iranian people have contributed significantly to the terrible state of Iran’s economy, increasing inflation and unemployment, making vital drugs and medications scarce, and hurting the middle class greatly.

    These groups’ support for the hostility of Saudi Arabia, Israel, and UAE toward Iran is particularly galling at a time when Saudi Arabia has threatened “to take the war to inside Iran,” Israel came close numerous times to attacking Iran from 2010-2011 and is still threatening it, and the UAE welcomed the terrorist attacks in Ahvaz in southern Iran last September.

    The Secessionist Ethnic Groups

    Although National Security Advisor John Bolton supports the MEK and has met with its leader repeatedly, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Brian Hook, the State Department’s Special Representative for Iran who directs the “Iran Action Group,” have met with some of the leaders of the “fake” opposition.

    Last June, Abdullah Mohtadi and Mustafa Hijri who lead, respectively, the Iranian Communist Kurdish group Komala and the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI), traveled to Washington, with Mohtadi reportedly meeting with Pompeo and Hijri meeting with other the State Department officials.

    Komala’s office in Washington has registered with the Justice Department as a lobbying group intending to “establish solid and durable relations” with the Trump administration.

    Before he was appointed the president’s national security advisor, Bolton published a white paper that included a call for supporting “Kurdish national aspirations, including Kurds in Iran, Iraq and Syria,” and for providing “assistance to Balochis, Khuzestan Arabs, Kurds” and other ethnic minorities in Iran.

    Both groups have carried out armed attacks on Iran’s military inside Iran, which amount to terrorism. Both have separatist tendencies, which they conceal under the guise of calling for a federal system that would partition the country into various regions based on ethnicity.

    The separatist nature of the KDPI became clear when, in 2012, Hijri asked the United States to declare Iran’s Kurdistan province a “no-fly zone” so that his forces could attack government forces freely and eventually secede from Iran. Hijri has also called for “regime change” in Iran, declared the Islamic Republic “a common enemy” of the Kurds and Israel, and asked the Jewish state for support.

    Identifying Iranian Ahmed Chalabis

    One goal of the meetings between Pompeo, Bolton, and the exiled “fake” opposition is to identify those Iranians who have the potential to act as the Iranian version of Ahmad Chalabi.

    This notorious Iraqi figure, whose Iraqi National Congress for years fabricated lies about Saddam Hussein’s non-existent weapons of mass destruction, worked closely with the neoconservatives in the run-up to the 2003 invasion. Another goal is to buttress the claim that the Iranian people support Trump’s policy vis-à-vis Iran.

    One leading candidate is Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last king, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi whose regime was overthrown by the 1979 Revolution.

    In the 1980s, the CIA provided Reza Pahlavi with funding. He has also had a long-term relationship with Israel and the Israel lobby in the United States, including meeting with Sheldon Adelson, the casino magnate and billionaire Republican donor who once suggested that the United States attack Iran with nuclear bombs.

    Reza Pahlavi has also called on Israel to help the “cause of democracy” in Iran.

    Efforts to prop up Reza Pahlavi began immediately after Donald Trump’s election in November 2016, even before he formally took office. Suddenly, the Farsi division of Voice of America (VOA), as well as Radio Farda, a U.S. funded radio program, began promoting Reza Pahlavi as the “leader” of the opposition.

    Setareh Derakhshesh, director of VOA’s Farsi programs, interviewed Pahlavi, and both VOA and Radio Farda began presenting a very “modern” and positive portrait of Pahlavi and his family, a depiction that has continued.

    In addition, Derakhshesh also interviewed several Iran hawks, including Bolton. She also interviewed Elliot Abrams, who served in George W. Bush’s National Security Council and is an ardent opponent of the nuclear agreement with Iran (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or JCPOA), and Michael Ledeen, a veteran anti-Iran neoconservative at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), a leading anti-JCPOA group closely associated with Israel’s Likud Party.

    Both Abrams and Ledeen support Trump’s policy toward Iran. VOA also hired Masih Alinejad, a controversial reporter who has turned against the Reformists in Iran, to begin her own program on VOA, giving her large sums of money and promoting her heavily.

    In addition, VOA’s programs stopped interviewing the Reformist figures in the Iranian diaspora or in Tehran. Several Iranian staff members who ran various VOA Farsi programs and were not comfortable with the sudden change of direction, either left VOA or moved to positions off camera.

    The New Pro-War Group

    Another “fake” opposition group that has emerged over the past several months and is closely linked with the Trump administration and the neocons is called Farashgard (“revival” in ancient Persian).

    Its leading member is Amir Etemadi who, together with Saeed Ghasseminejad, co-founded the so-called “Iranian Liberal Students Group” (ILSG), a small ultra-right group of student activists in Iran, most of whom moved to Canada and the United States and supported George W. Bush’s policy toward Iran.

    Ghasseminejad is now “senior adviser on Iran” at the FDD. In his Twitter account, Ghasseminejad refers to himself as a “classical liberal and non-partisan,” despite calling for the execution of the Islamic Republic’s leaders after regime change and working for the very partisan FDD.

    Farashgard consists of 40 relatively young activists—most of whom are members of the ILSG—who have called for “regime change” in Iran, supported Trump’s “maximum pressure” campaign against their native land, and promoted Reza Pahlavi as the leader of the opposition.

    Before the group announced its existence in September 2018, many of its members had signed a letter in December 2016 in which they declared the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic State (ISIS or IS) “two sides of the same coin”—never mind that Iran played a leading role in defeating IS in Iraq and Syria.

    The letter also urged then President-elect Trump to take on the Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) throughout the Middle East “by all available means” and help “the Iranian people to take back their country from the Islamic gang which has been in charge for the last four decades…”.

    Echoing Bolton’s and Pompeo’s claim that Iran’s ballistic missile program is “a threat not only to the region but to the world,” they asked Trump to pressure Iran to stop its missile program, and impose tough economic sanctions that would hurt the Iranian people, not the regime

    “New Iran” Foundation

    A few months ago, a new Iran “think thank” popped up called New Iran (TNI), led by Alireza Nader, formerly of the Rand Corporation. TNI claims to be “a nonprofit and nonpartisan 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the objective research and analysis of Iran.” But Nader has recently been more involved in political development than analysis.

    In late December 2017 and early January 2018, when demonstrations against the terrible state of the economy broke out in several cities throughout Iran, Nader was highly active on Twitter, trying to encourage more demonstrations—see here, here, here, and here, for example—while working at Rand under a contract from the U.S. government.

    Nader apparently left Rand a short time after those demonstrations, and suddenly TNI emerged with offices at a pricey Washington address and six permanent staff. The few analyses that TNI members, including Nader himself, have published—see here and here, for example—indicate that they support the Trump/Pompeo/Bolton approach to Iran.

    This is in fact Nader’s modus operandi. A review of his writings over the years shows that he generally changes positions as the U.S. administrations do and tries to align with whoever is in power.

    In addition to supporting Trump’s Iran policy, Farashgard and TNI are also closely linked to the neoconservatives, the Israel lobby, and others.

    For example, a member of the board of directors of the TNI, Nader Uskowi, was a leftist student activist before the Iranian revolution and has worked at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, an offshoot of the American Israeli Political Affairs Committee. Another member of TNI’s board is Thomas Parker who is also listed as a security expert on the website of the Washington Institute and has written for them in the past.

    In a recent article, Uskowi seemingly praised Farashgard. In addition, Shay Khatiri, a researcher at TNI, is also a member of Farashgard, and in his Twitter account proudly describes himself as “the new Paul Wolfowitz,” the discredited neoconservative former deputy Pentagon chief under George W. Bush and one of the key architects of 2003 invasion of Iraq.

    A picture shows him shaking hands with the late Senator John McCain, an Iran hawk who sang infamously “bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.” His page on the TNI website claims that “he has researched Iranian politics, history, and public opinion at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies and the American Enterprise Institute,” whose “scholars” have included Wolfowitz, Bolton, Ledeen, and other Iraq and Iran hawks.

    Another TNI adviser, Sharon Nazarian, is “senior vice president of international affairs” at the Anti-Defamation League, a civil-rights group that is strongly pro-Israel and that has also long supported a confrontational stance towards Iran.

    According to documents filed online by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the political arm of the MEK, Uskowi has repeatedly met with NCRI’s Alireza Jafarzadeh. Iranians consider Jafarzadeh the “foreign minister” of the MEK leader, Maryam Rajavi.

    Bolton and Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, have been long-time lobbyists for the MEK, receiving large fees for their lobby activities. Both Bolton and Giuliani have also called for “regime change” in Iran.

    It’s not clear where TNI and other “fake” opposition groups receive their funding. The Gulf States, however, have made clear their their willingness to pay for anti-Iranian activities. Last November, The New York Times reported that, in March 2017, intelligence and military officials of Saudi Arabia discussed a $2 billion plan to destabilize Iran and assassinate its top officials, including Major General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s Quds force.

    No Significant Social Base of Support

    One of the most important aspects of all such groups is that they have no significant social base of support within Iran. Even in the diaspora a large majority of Iranians, while opposing the clerics in Iran, reject economic sanctions, military threats, and these groups’ support for the anti-Iranian policy of the Trump-MbS-Netanyahu triangle.

    Within Iran, the hostility of the triangle has actually transformed the generally pro-West Iranians into strong opponents of the three countries, to the point of despising the three leaders and their governments.

    Farhad Meysami, a medical doctor and human rights activist who has been imprisoned by the hardliners in Tehran and has even gone on hunger strike, criticized harshly the Trump administration in an open letter distributed widely on the Internet. He accused Trump, Bolton, and Pompeo of shedding “crocodile tears” for him and other jailed political and human rights activists, writing:

    I was paging through a newspaper when I suddenly caught a glimpse of a story and got riveted to the spot. Apparently, [Donald] Trump’s State Department has called for the “freedom” of this humble civil activist.

    Actually, I prefer to serve my whole life in jail at the hands of a group of wrongdoing compatriot oppressors and spend it endeavoring to rectify their mistakes, rather than be subject to the stigma of “deal-breakers’ support” [a reference to the Trump administration leaving the JCPOA illegally].

    Meysami ended his letter by saying, “I request the likes of Trump, Pompeo and Bolton to shed their crocodile tears for human rights elsewhere.”

    After promoting Reza Pahlavi heavily, Farashgard called on the Iranian people to go on strike and demonstrate on the anniversary of last year’s scattered demonstrations, particularly on December 28 and January 7.

    No significant demonstration took place anywhere in Iran, hence demonstrating the absence of any social support within Iran for the monarchists, Reza Pahlavi, and their promotors. It also demonstrated these groups’ complete ignorance of Iran’s realities. The lack of support for the demonstrations was so embarrassing that it ignited a fierce internal debate among the monarchists about the wisdom of such calls.

    All Iranians despise the MEK for collaborating with Saddam Hussein and Iraq during the war with Iran in the 1980s, for revealing information on Iran’s nuclear program and facilities, for working with Saudi Arabia, and for collaborating with Israel in the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists.

    The Poland Summit

    In January, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced a summit in Poland on February 13-14 to build a global coalition against Iran.

    The idea, according to Pompeo, is to “focus on Middle East stability and peace and freedom and security here in this region, and that includes an important element of making sure that Iran is not a destabilizing influence.” Poland’s Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said in a statement that 70 countries, including all 28 members of the European Union, have been invited.

    A well-placed Iranian activist told the author that, in the run-up to the summit in Poland, Pompeo has invited several figures from the Iranian “fake” opposition to Washington for “consultation.” The apparent purpose is either to select some of them to take to Poland to speak “on behalf of the Iranian people,” to prepare some sort of “manifesto” on what the Iranian people want, or both.

    In fact, on February 4, Pompeo met with the VOA’s Alinejad and “underscored the United States’ commitment to help amplify the voices of the Iranian people and to condemn the Iranian regime for its ongoing human rights abuses.” This is while the United States continues to support Saudi Arabia and Egypt, countries that are gross violators of the human rights of their own citizens.

    After re-imposing harsh and illegal economic sanctions on Iran, threatening Iran repeatedly, and banning most Iranians from traveling to the United States, the Trump administration, in collaboration with the “fake” Iranian opposition, sheds crocodile tears for the Iranian people.

    In Iran, meanwhile, the people struggle daily on two fronts. They continue to survive the sanctions and threats, and the rampant corruption of the hardliners. And they continue to pressure these same hardliners to stop the repression, open up the political space, and allow for free and fair elections.

    Muhammad Sahimi, a professor at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, has been analyzing Iran’s political developments and its nuclear program for 25 years. From 2008-2012, he was the lead political columnist for the website PBS/Frontline/Tehran Bureau. In addition, his writings have been published by Huffington Post, National Interest, Antiwar, and other major websites, as well as by the Los Angeles Times and New York Times, among others.

    Botched US-led coup d’état? Yes, indeedy, it most certainly is.

    When the ‘Slow Coup’ isn’t going the way the Axis of Weasels want after Trump effectively seized and nationalized Citgo for the US, when the vast majority of Venezuelans oppose military intervention and US sanctions to try to remove President Nicolás Maduro from power, according to polling by the local firm Hinterlaces, then just openly and publicly resort to bribery to manufacture turncoats in the military’s top brass.

    Maduro and his cronies don’t live lavishly in Europe, but upper middle class and wealthy Venezuelan ex-pats of the US corporate elite class live high off the hog in Miami and DC, and some in Tel Aviv, as well as their mansions in Caracas.

    RT: ‘Make the right choice!’ US offers sanctions relief to Venezuelan officers who flip on Maduro

    After years of a harsh sanctions campaign against Venezuela, the US is offering to loosen the economic noose for those military officers who defect and recognize opposition leader Juan Guaidó as the country’s interim president.

    Accusing President Nicolas Maduro and his “cronies” of plundering Venezuelan wealth for their own well-being while blocking “humanitarian assistance” to the country, National Security Advisor John Bolton urged the Latin American country’s officers to defect.

    The economy of the South American nation has been in steady decline since the sharp drop in oil prices in 2014.

    At the same time Caracas has been under constant pressure from US sanctions aimed at President Nicolas Maduro and his government.

    The decline of the economy has led to the devaluation of the national currency and to shortages of food, medicine and other basic goods.

    The worsening socio-economic conditions triggered a substantial outflow of Venezuelans to neighboring countries, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil.

    Ever since Donald Trump recognized the National Assembly leader Guaidó as the ‘interim’ president of the South American country two weeks ago, the US has been spearheading an effort to oust Maduro from power.

    Last week, the US imposed sanctions on Venezuela’s oil industry while calling for a peaceful political transition in the country.

    Joined by its allies in the EU and across much of Latin America, Washington has also been pressing the military in Venezuela to defect, all while blocking oil revenue cash flow to the Maduro government.

    In return, Guaidó promised to open the country’s vast natural reserves to foreign investors.

    The United States also has not ruled out a military intervention in Venezuela, noting that all options remain on the table.

    Meanwhile Maduro remains committed to repelling any possible aggression, with the country’s armed forces mostly staying loyal to the elected leader. The Maduro government is also open to dialogue with the opposition.

    Let’s hear from the International Committee of the Fourth International.

    The ‘real’ Socialists are die-hard anti-capitalist ideologues and purists, not chameleon-like as Guaido’s unpopular globalist, neo-liberal, neo-con capitalist Popular Will Party with its socialist tattoos and lip-service shifting as the winds blow, but their reporting is usually fact-based and accurate.

    WSWS paradoxically tags Guaido as ‘extreme right-wing’, therefore by extension so is his party, Popular Will, despite the fact that Popular Will registered with the Socialist International back in 2014.

    Popular Will supports globalization and neo-liberalism, and is committed to privatizing and selling off Venezuelan state assets, particularly the oil sector, at fire sale, bargain basement prices, and can hardly wait to Make Venezuela a Great Vassal of Jewmerica Again.

    And contrary to the propaganda, Venezuela is still a capitalist society. Norway is far, far more socialist than Venezuela. Venezuela remains a capitalist country with 70% of the economy in private businesses, particularly ones owned by the corporate elites, including the food industry monopolies.

    Maduro’s woes began back around 2014 when the OPEC price of oil dropped through the cellar, a situation that he had no control over, Venezuelan oil production plunged, tanking the economy, forcing it into a double-digit recession and subsequent but unseen hyperinflation.

    The elite-owned food monopolies have done more than their share to sabotage Venezuela’s food programs, largely by double-dipping and selling state-subsidized food products meant for poor and working class Venezuelans’ consumption outside of Venezuela for higher profits.

    It is also silly for anyone to assert that “socialism has failed” in Venezuela, when 70 percent of the country’s economy is in private hands, and many of these corporate elites are Venezuelan expats residing in Jewmerica, especially Florida.

    The country is completely integrated into the world capitalist system and it is (overly) dependent on a commodity (oil) with a price that wildly fluctuates on capitalist markets. Venezuela’s elite, who have never given much of rip about the lower classes, continue doing most of its business through the United States, using American banks and suppliers.

    It was the sudden loss of the American market to Venezuelan state companies and their local suppliers that struck with such force.

    As such, the true-believer Socialists take both a dim view of Maduro, and of the Venezuelan mostly private capitalist economy.

    Vesti reported on February 1 that SOUTHCOM commander Admiral Craig Faller was seen in the city of Cucuta, Columbia, located right on the border with Venezuela, giving a talk on issues related to illegal immigration as a pretext.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD0pyxtdS2c

    Next thing we know, yesterday Faller is in front of the Senate testifying that the US embassy will need military protection.

    Keep in mind that when the Axis of Weasels launched their botched coup operations after crowning Guaido, Maduro had immediately ordered all US diplomats to depart from Venezuela.

    Pompass refused to recall the US diplomats, thumbing his nose at Maduro.

    Eventually, non-essential diplomatic staff and family members flew back to the US.

    World Socialist Web Site: US commander says Pentagon prepared to intervene to defend Venezuela embassy

    By Bill Van Auken
    8 February 2019

    Amid rising tensions generated by the US-backed coup in Venezuela, the head of the US Southern Command, responsible for the Pentagon’s operations in Latin America and the Caribbean, told a Senate panel Thursday that the US military is prepared to intervene in defense of Washington’s embassy in Caracas.

    The phony pretext of defending US personnel from alleged threats was used as justification for the last two major military invasions carried out by US imperialism in the hemisphere: Grenada in 1983 and Panama in 1989.

    SOUTHCOM commander Admiral Craig Faller, who appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee alongside his AFRICOM counterpart, Marine Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, made clear the active involvement of the US military in the ongoing regime-change operation in Venezuela, launched on January 23 with the US-coordinated self-swearing-in by a previously virtually unknown extreme right-wing legislator, Juan Guaidó as “interim president.”

    Washington immediately recognized him as Venezuela’s head of state, while declaring the government of President Nicolas Maduro illegitimate. A number of right-wing Latin American governments, major European powers and Canada followed suit.

    “We think the population is ready for a new leader,” the admiral told the Senate panel, on which both Democrats and Republicans expressed support for the Trump administration’s bid to overthrow the Venezuelan government.

    Pressed by senators about the state of the Venezuelan military, which Washington is appealing to incessantly to consummate regime change by means of an armed coup, Faller described the country’s army as “a degraded force, but still a force that remains loyal to Maduro.”

    He promised to provide more information during a closed session on US efforts to win over sections of the military command to the regime-change operation.

    The admiral linked the US drive to oust the Maduro government to the Pentagon’s global security strategy of preparing for “great power” conflicts with nuclear-armed China and Russia.

    “Russia and China are expanding their influence in the Western Hemisphere, often at the expense of US interests,” he told the committee.

    “Both enable —and are enabled by—actions in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba that threaten hemispheric security and prosperity, and the actions of those three states in turn damage the stability and democratic progress across the region. As the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world, Iran’s activities in the region are also concerning.”

    Accusing China of “predatory lending practices” in extending at least $150 billion in loans to countries in the hemisphere, he expressed concerns that Beijing could use control over deep-water ports and of key infrastructure associated with the Panama Canal to “enhance its global operational posture.”

    In a more candid moment during questioning by the panel, the admiral stated, “It’s hard to beat something with nothing,” acknowledging that China’s investment in the region had far eclipsed that of the US.

    Faller also pointed to the recent flight to Venezuela of two nuclear-capable Russian bombers, saying it was “intended as a demonstration of support for the Maduro regime and as a show of force to the United States.”

    “As tensions increase with Russia in Europe,” he added, “Moscow may leverage these longstanding regional partners to maintain asymmetric options, to include forward deploying military personnel or assets.”

    The admiral’s testimony, which included an appeal for greater funding and more forces for US military operations in the hemisphere, made clear that Washington views Latin America as a battlefield in a coming global war, and is determined to assert its hegemony over the region by means of regime-change operations and outright military invasions.

    Venezuela is the prime target for this campaign for good reason.

    It sits atop the largest proven oil reserves on the face of the earth, and US imperialism is determined to wrest control of these vast resources for the US energy conglomerates and to deny them to Russia and China, which both have extended loans to and made major investments in Venezuela’s state-owned oil company, PDVSA.

    Guaidó earlier this week issued his “Country Plan” for Venezuela, making clear that he would throw open Venezuela’s oil industry, nationalized more than four decades ago, to control by US Big Oil.

    Admiral Faller announced that he is going to Brazil on Sunday for meetings with the military brass of the newly installed government of the fascistic ex-army captain, Jair Bolsonaro, which is collaborating closely with Washington on the coup in Venezuela.

    Brazil is supposed to serve as one of the entry points for “humanitarian aid” being organized by Washington in a bid to provoke a confrontation on Venezuela’s borders and spark a revolt in the country’s military.

    The US embassy in Bogota announced on Thursday that the first trucks carrying aid supplies had arrived at the Colombian border city of Cúcuta.

    Washington and Venezuela’s right-wing opposition under the leadership of Guaidó is demanding that the Venezuelan government throw open its borders to a “humanitarian corridor” to be operated jointly by the US and Guaidó’s phantom parallel government.

    The US pose of concern for the suffering of the Venezuelan working class and poor as a result of the country’s protracted economic crisis and the policies of the Maduro government, which has defended the interests of foreign and domestic finance capital at the expense of the masses, is utterly cynical.

    The small amount of aid that it proposes to deliver will do nothing to reverse the country’s crisis, which has been drastically deepened by the financial embargo imposed by Washington in 2017, followed by what amounts to a blockade of Venezuelan oil exports imposed in conjunction with the ongoing coup attempt.

    The arrival of a handful of trucks in Cúcuta has been given extensive coverage by the US and Western corporate media, eager to provide propaganda for the regime-change operation by portraying a heartless Maduro refusing to open Venezuela’s borders to the beneficent machinations of US imperialism.

    Trump earlier this week reiterated that direct US military intervention remains “on the table” to impose US “humanitarian” efforts upon the country by force.

    Other top administration officials have ratcheted up the threats of intervention.

    US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made the absurd allegation on Fox News Thursday that Venezuela harbors “active cells” of the Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah and that the “Iranians are impacting the people of Venezuela and throughout South America.”

    Given this presence of Hezbollah and Iran in Venezuela, which is a fantasy dreamt up by the most right-wing elements of the US national security apparatus, Pompeo insisted: “We have an obligation to take down that risk for America.”

    On the same day, Elliot Abrams, the veteran war criminal who served as the principal US advocate for the dictatorships in El Salvador and Guatemala as they carried out near-genocidal wars against their own people and was subsequently convicted in connection with the illegal operation to finance the CIA-organized “contra” terrorist army unleashed upon Nicaragua, gave a press conference at the State Department demanding that Maduro leave Venezuela and rejecting any dialogue or negotiations over the crisis orchestrated by Washington.

    A reporter who attempted to question Abrams about his bloody past was repeatedly silenced by the State Department spokesman.

    Abrams’s rejection of any negotiations was echoed by Guaidó, who pushed through a measure in Venezuela’s National Assembly rejecting any dialogue that would “prolong the suffering of the people” and told the Uruguayan newspaper El Pais that he would not participate in any talks with Maduro. In the same interview, Guaidó insisted that a foreign military intervention to force “humanitarian aid” across Venezuela’s border would be perfectly legal.

    The statements by Abrams and Guaidó came as a group of Latin American and European governments convened the opening in Montevideo of a “Contact Group” with the purpose of promoting a peaceful resolution of the Venezuelan crisis without it spilling over into civil war or foreign military intervention.

    The principal organizers of the conference were the governments of Uruguay and Mexico, with the participation of Ecuador, Bolivia and Costa Rica, along with the European Union (EU) and the governments of Spain, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, France, the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

    Federica Mogherini, the EU foreign relations representative, made it clear that the European powers remain behind the drive for regime change, insisting that any dialogue produce new and swift elections to replace the government of Maduro.

    Uruguay’s president, Tabaré Vázquez, opened the conference by stating that its purpose was to “facilitate” a peaceful resolution of the Venezuelan crisis “without intervention” from abroad. “The major question posed in Venezuela is that of peace or war,” he said, calling for the “prudence of the international community to prevail.”

    Washington’s rejection of any such mediation, and the European imperialists’ own support for regime change as a means of competing in the scramble for Venezuela’s oil, make such appeals to “prudence” entirely empty and futile. If a war for Venezuelan oil, with the potential of spilling over into a regional and even global conflict, is to be prevented, it will be only by means of the intervention of the working class in Latin America and internationally.

    Some highlights about Guaidó from the GreyZoneProject report below include that he graduated from the prestigious private elite Andrés Bello Catholic University of Caracas.

    He then moved to Washington, DC to enroll in the Governance and Political Management Program at George Washington University, under the mentorship of Venezuelan economist Luis Enrique Berrizbeitia, a former executive director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Gray Zone Project also reported.

    Guaidó, bursting suddenly on the world’s political stage in the lens of the MSM, is a creature of DC’s making, “the product of more than a decade of assiduous grooming by the US government’s elite regime change factories”.

    Further, support for Guaidó, a member of the wealthy elite class descended from Spanish colonizers, is driven by wealthy exile elites, academics, politicians and professionals living in Colombia, Miami, and Washington DC.

    Not the least of which is expat Venezuelan Jewry’s involvement, as +BN has exposed by showing the faces of two deeply involved former Venezuelan politicians, Harvard Economics professor Ricardo Hausmann and Moises Naim, who represent a sort of “government in waiting” outside of Venezuela.

    Furthermore, it seems to me that Guaidó was selected for his more “indigenous” features to polish the US-led coup’s brand marketing as the face of the “opposition” in an effort to draw more popular sympathy from the Venezuelan poor and working class people of color for the Trump White House Venezuelan Project reality show.

    Note: There may conceivably be some small kernel of truth that Pompass is spinning his exaggerated “Hezbollah” Jewish fright fable on.

    Apart from the well-known armed paramilitary wing of Hezbollah standing as a deterrence against Israel aggression in Southern Lebanon, Hezbollah is a legitimate, recognized Lebanese political party with a considerable number of elected seats in the parliament.

    Among the Arab Venezuelans (Syrians, Palestinians, Lebanese) particularly for expats, there may be members of political parties based in their respective homelands.

    Lebanese expats are allowed to cast votes in parliamentary elections from abroad, and some may actually belong to political Hezbollah (Party of God) if Shi’ite Muslims. However, there are relatively few Muslims in Venezuela, most are Levantine Christians. Among the Lebanese Venezuelans, some may belong to Lebanese Christian political parties which are political allies of Hezbollah. – Kj

    The Greyzone:

    WSJ Confirms: Trump-Appointed Venezuela Coup Leader Plans Neoliberal Capitalist Shock Therapy

    Venezuela’s US-appointed coup leader Juan Guaidó plans to privatize state assets and give foreign corporations access to oil, the Wall Street Journal admitted.

    By Ben Norton

    The Wall Street Journal reported that Venezuela’s US-appointed coup leader Juan Guaidó has already drafted plans for “opening up Venezuela’s vast oil sector to private investment” and “privatizing assets held by state enterprises.”

    The report confirms what The Grayzone previously reported.

    “Juan Guaidó, recognized by Washington as the rightful leader, said he would sell state assets and invite private investment in the energy industry,” read the Wall Street Journal’s January 31 article.

    The paper noted that Guaidó plans “to reverse President Nicolás Maduro’s economic polices,” explaining:

    “Mr. Guaidó said his plan called for seeking financial aide from multilateral organizations, tapping bilateral loans, restructuring debt and opening up Venezuela’s vast oil sector to private investment.

    “It includes privatizing assets held by state enterprises … He also said he’d end wasteful state subsidies and take steps to revive the private sector.”

    In other words, Guaidó plans to implement the neoliberal capitalist shock therapy that Washington has imposed on the region for decades.

    Using funding from US-dominated international financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Venezuelan coup leader seeks to adopt an aggressive “structural adjustment” program, enacting the kinds of economic policies that have led to the preventable deaths of millions of people and an explosion of poverty and inequality in the years following capitalist restoration in the former Soviet Union.

    In a speech, Juan Guaidó even echoed rhetoric that is popular among US conservatives: “Here, no one wants to be given anything.”

    It is clear that the coup leader’s priorities reflect those of Venezuela’s capitalist oligarchs and right-wing politicians in the United States. Economic liberalization is the Venezuelan opposition’s first and most important goal; democracy is just a pretense.

    RT: Maduro’s opposition more divided than you think

    Author and professor of Latin American history Steve Ellner joins Scottie Nell Hughes to discuss the ongoing political crisis in Venezuela.

    He expects “the consolidation of a middle ground” that will promote dialogue and peaceful solutions.

    Ellner criticizes faulty reporting in establishment media regarding Maduro’s opposition and the conflation of Venezuela’s economic crisis with Maduro’s alleged authoritarianism, which fuels the “Maduro must go” narratives in the West.

    More botched coup news. Now I know why Bolton has resorted to very public bribery offer to the Venezuelan military’s top brass.

    Telesur: Venezuela Reveals Evidence, Plotters Behind Recent US-backed Coup Attempt

    The official revealed that thanks to a Venezuelan intelligence operation, retired Colonel Oswaldo Valentín García Palomo was arrested in recent weeks.

    Venezuelan Minister of Communications Jorge Rodriguez offered a press conference Thursday in which he showed evidence of the coup attempt by the right-wing opposition against the constitutional President Nicolas Maduro, with the participation of the United States and other governments.

    The official revealed that thanks to a Venezuelan intelligence operation, retired Colonel Oswaldo Valentín García Palomo was arrested after he wanted to enter the country to organize a military coup.

    He denounced that the U.S. and Colombian governments supported the coup attempts, once in May 2018 in the framework of the presidential elections; and another in January 2019, which have already been defeated.

    Rodriguez reported that García Palomo coordinated from Cucuta the regime change operation and had had numerous trips to Miami, despite an Interpol’s request for capture by the Venezuelan government.

    After his capture, García Palomo has given numerous statements and in view of the seriousness of his confessions, the Venezuelan prosecutor approved showing part of his confessions to the public and the media.

    Guaido, illegally called for, and is supremely concerned with, a multinational coalition to send in “humanitarian aid” from the US through third parties in Brazil, Columbia, and the Caribbean.

    We’ve seen abundant evidence of this gambit before most recently recovered by the Syrian Arab Army from numerous underground supply and weapons caches smuggled to the various factions and parties of the “Syrian opposition” by the US, Israel, Europe, Turkey, and Gulf Arab monarchies under the cover of “humanitarian aid”.

    However, it really is a sign of something gone wrong with the reality show coup when the local and international Red Cross and Crescent Societies flat refuse to participate in the Axis of Weasels’ sham.

    AFP/Yahoo: Venezuela’s Guaido won’t rule out authorizing US intervention

    Caracas (AFP) – Venezuela’s self-proclaimed acting leader Juan Guaido refused to rule out Friday the possibility of authorizing a US intervention to help force President Nicolas Maduro from power and alleviate a humanitarian crisis.

    National Assembly President Guaido told AFP he would do “everything that is necessary… to save human lives,” acknowledging that United States intervention is “a very controversial subject.”

    The opposition leader launched a bid to oust Maduro last month, declaring himself acting president, a move recognized by the United States and around 40 countries, including 20 from the European Union.

    Under Maduro’s stewardship, Venezuela’s economy has collapsed leaving the country wracked by hyperinflation, recession and shortages of basic necessities such as food and medicine.

    Guaido, 35, is trying to bring in food and medicines from the US but the supplies are stuck in warehouses in Colombia because the Venezuelan military has blocked their entry.

    Earlier, Maduro vowed not to let in “fake humanitarian aid” and claimed Venezuela’s crisis has been “fabricated by Washington” to justify intervention.

    Guaido says 300,000 people could die if desperately-needed aid isn’t brought in.

    “We’re going to do everything that has a lower social cost, which generates governability and stability to deal with the emergency so we can recover public services,” he said.

    Failing public services including water, electricity and transport are among Venezuela’s worst problems, while there is also a shortage of doctors and medical supplies in hospitals.

    Helping the needy is not Guaido’s only aim, though.

    He has dismissed Maduro as illegitimate over his reelection last May in polls branded a fraud by the US, EU and many Latin American countries.

    Guaido says the constitution allows him to assume power, set up a transitional government and hold new elections — one of his key demands that has received widespread international support.

    “We’ll do everything we have to in a sovereign and autonomous manner to end the usurpation, (establish) the transitional government and (hold) free elections,” he said.

    Telesur: Red Cross Refuses to Send Venezuela Aid Without State Approval

    The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will not violate government mandate to send humanitarian aid to Venezuela, the international group said in a statement Monday.

    On Sunday, Juan Guaido, an opposition lawmaker who declared himself “interim president” after an attempted coup on January 23, illegally called a multinational coalition to send humanitarian aid through third parties in Brazil, Colombia, and the Caribbean.

    However, in a statement, the health organizations’ Colombian branch denounced the international coalition as counterintuitive.

    “The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Colombia reaffirms that in order to guarantee the fulfillment of its exclusively humanitarian mission and in accordance with the fundamental principles of impartiality, neutrality and independence, it can not participate in the initiatives of delivery of assistance for Venezuela from Colombia,” the letter said.

    “Likewise, in compliance with our mission we will continue with the humanitarian support to Colombia’s vulnerable, rural population,” said the document which was posted on the group’s Twitter page.

    The joint statement was signed by the chief of Cluster of Andean Countries of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Michele Detomaso; the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Colombia, Christoph Harnisch, and the president of the Colombian Red Cross, Judith Carvajal.

    The aid contributed by the US amounts to roughly 20 million dollars, considerably less than the amount of damage being done by President Donald Trump’s multi-billion dollar sanctions. …

    Venezuela has a population of over 32 million. US “humanitarian aid” is estimated at $20 million. That works out to something like 62.5 cents per person.

    ***** 10 POINTS DISPROVING THE DC NARRATIVE ********

    STEP 1: in 1999-2013 When Chavez took power Venezuela saw the greatest *INCREASE in the standard of living of *ANY nation in the world over the same relative time period.

    However, the Super Wealthy Elitists in the country saw their taxes rise a great deal and Big US Oil companies were forced to acknowledge their corrupt back room deals, and CONSTITUTIONALLY had their assets seized and expropriated as repayment to the Venezuelan people….

    Article 12 & 13 of the Venezuelan Constitution Confirms This:

    After an illegal, criminal coup attempt failed to unseat President Chavez….

    [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Venezuelan_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat_attempt]

    Big Oil & Their Allies in the US Government reacted with the following actions:

    STEP 2: In 2014 The US and its Allies in OPEC ( Saudi Arabia, Iraq, UAE,.) flooded the Markets with excess Oil violating every single historical precedent (World economies were slowing which historically meant cutting production to stabilize the price of Oil ) This caused an overnight CRASH of nearly 80% in the price of Oil …nearly bankrupting over a dozen countries )

    STEP 3: In 2015 The US lifted its ban on selling Oil overseas for profit further exacerbating the price drop and SIMULTANEOUSLY issued an Executive Order Declaring Venezuela a threat to National Security ( see US Treasury link at bottom of description )

    STEP 4: While nearly every oil producing nation in the World was turning to the IMF and International Banks for loans to cover the shortfall in Oil revenues, the US issued MORE executive orders BANNING US Banks and Financial institutions from having any financial dealings with Venezuela cutting off their access to critical refinancing options ( see US Treasury link at bottom of description )

    STEP 5: 2016 — The US seized nearly 2B in Venezuelan Bank accounts in the US, Prevented Venezuelan owned CITGO/VALERO from sending payments/dividends from Sales inside the US; and added new Sanctions preventing ANY US business from selling much needed Food/Medicine/Industrial Supplies to the Venezuelan Government. The ensuing shortages began driving up the cost of goods and the Bolivar started its spiral. ( see US Treasury link at bottom of description )

    STEP 6: Colombia ( US ALLY ) allowed Paramilitaries to flood into Venezuela where they used US DOLLARS ( now worth much, MUCH more relative to the Bolivar ) to buy up all the remaining goods and return to Colombia where they marked them up 1000% and ran Black Markets further exacerbating the shortages.

    Eventually the Wealthy Elitists who OWNED the grocery stores and Trucking Companies started selling DIRECTLY to the Paramilitaries and the goods never saw the store shelves.

    STEP 7: This forced the Venezuelan government to step in, arresting thousands for conspiracy causing businesses to close and false allegations of Government abuse began to surface…

    STEP 8: by 2017 the US had Colombian Operatives in Venezuela attempting to destabilize the Maduro Government, starting riots, fomenting civil disobedience, meanwhile in Miami fake Dollar to Bolivar exchange rate websites began to pop up driving down the value of the Bolivar relative to the Dollar…

    Step 9: 2018 The Bank of England refuses to Repatriate billions in Venezuelan Gold, Venezuela forced to turn to China and Russia for refinancing options, the US spin machine uses this to make the allegation Venezuela harbors US enemies….

    Step 10: 2019 US Government and its Allies refuse to acknowledge results of Legal Free and Fair Elections, call President Maduro a “Usurper”, creating their own illegal shadow government using the MSM to sway public opinion and tie all suffering created by the US to Nicolas Maduro.

    I LOVE it when you give your hypothesis, or as you call it “your take” +BN!

    I think you do very well taking into consideration the many key pivotal points confirming your oppinion of a “botched coup,” and I do agree with you!

    Interesting though how this will most likely never take off.

    Now with Maduro being a strong, confident & intelligent speaker, the Venezuelans seeing what’s headed their way if it were to take off. Guido selling out to Jewry would now force the “JEW.S.A.” to reveal itself as the loathsome thieving Jew-controlled bully as it has portrayed itself in Libya under Killary’s guise for Jewry’s agenda.

    Isn’t it interesting that Trump who was seemingly a staunch backer of this coup attempt is now off the hook. Almost like he knew he had to go along with the worms or get really smeared, but also almost knowing it would never take off, leaving himself free from the Jew’s evil scapegoating exploitations.

    And we all know they wouldn’t hesitate a millisecond to blame it ALL on Trump when it all went south with THOUSANDS of dead innocent Venezuelans in the streets!

    This way he’s in the clear, seen as “a real team player,” yet was spared from playing in the big “game”.

    Hey — what’s bad for evil wormy Jews is really great for Venezuela, Trump, and The U.S.A.!

    Mystery Babylon isn’t such a mystery anymore – It’s Jewry!

    The Babylon Talmud and all it’s evils it contains in – Sanhedrin, and it’s wicked people who sell out Jesus – who lust over fame, wealth, possessions, glamour, vanity, control (look at Hollywood) are the arrogant, spoiled, selfish, self glorifying children of the devil! Them who have eyes — let them see!

    They will never admit it, just shape shift and belittle it away, but Hollywood is slowly dying!

    They are having serious riffs within (no Oscars hosts), lowest viewers on record, Kevin Hart standing up to them with the fortunate availability of being a strong/wise black man. Had it been a white goy, oy vey! he would have been cast to the wolves but only after an excruciating shame fest on their mass media outlets by the evil Yid master puppets!

    The Jew secretly fears Jesus’s return!

    I sensed it a few times while conversing with a few of them on different occasions. They know down deep inside.

    They really do know and they’re deathly afraid, but until then they continue jeWISH it all away, then continue to serve their worldly master who in their belief gives them ALL their hearts’ desires. The master (Satan) of them who in reality is deceiving them like NO other person on Earth!

    The Jews are truly the world’s most stupid/foolish creature!

    Do any of us really own anything and for how long? ALL gone “In the wink of an eye”.

    Again – I will be praying at 12pm EST (9 .m.) PST against the evil Jews and all are welcome who care to join me.

    “Br. Nat, I’m beginning to believe that Trump himself has been brainwashed by the same Jews and Trotskyists.”

    No, its more like Trump is suffering from the jews most infamous weapon; merciless, relentless, constant, never-ending pressure!

    From the very few first seconds after the so-called establishment of Israel, Zionist Jews have been using pressure to their very great success on american presidents.

    Poor Harry Truman, submitting to the relentless pressure of his Jewish friend and business partner from back home in Missouri, Edward Jacobson, finally allowed three Jews to meet him in the oval office.

    The main Jew, Epstein, was so disrespectfully arrogant, he pounded with his fist on the desk of the president of the US demanding that if Harry Truman doesn’t acknowledge the creation of Israel, the Jews will bring their full support to Truman’s presidential rival, Thomas Dewey.

    That’s street gang, mafia-style, thuggish blackmail and pressure!

    Israel, in all truth and reality, hiding behind this deceitful facade all these years of respectability, is really not that much more than a criminal enterprise of thugs, blackmailers, and murderers.

    Jews Will Flee Israel!

    “SOMETHING LIKE A CAGE has to be built for the Palestinians,” said Zionist historian Benny Morris in a recent interview.

    “And there are circumstances in history that justify ethnic cleansing,” Morris remarked.

    At the same time Morris slid into a deep pessimism regarding the survival of Israel.

    “I don’t see how we get out of it,” Morris laments. “Arabs outnumber Jews and the whole territory is unavoidably becoming one state with an Arab majority.

    Continuing his dirge he adds, “Israel calls itself a Jewish state but a situation in which we rule over an occupied people that has no rights cannot persist in the 21st century, in the modern world. As soon as they do have rights the state will no longer be Jewish.”

    What will happen? the interviewer asks.

    “Violence between the different populations will increase. Arabs will demand the return of refugees.

    “The Palestinians look at everything from a broad and long-term perspective. They see there are six million Jews here surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arabs. They have no reason to give in because the Jewish state can’t last.

    “Jews will remain a small minority within a large Arab sea of Palestinians and will become a persecuted or slaughtered minority. Those among the Jews who can will flee to America.”

    JUST WHAT WE NEED! More Jews to bring their ‘group think’ to America:

    Sexual perversion, Judaistic religious fanaticism, hatred of Christianity, disdain for goys, and political influence for ‘what’s good for the Jews.’

    Jews from Israel will run to America for freedom while bringing Jewish-empowered slavery with them.

    More Jews here with their international monies and institutions?

    It means the Jewish whip for America. Here & Here.

    Jews Own The Media Not Corporations

    DON’T BE BAMBOOZLED by efforts to shield Jewish ownership of the main stream media.

    I was raised a Jew and in my adult years I lived near the Jew owner of CBS, Murray Rothstein, who passes himself off as some blue-blooded Yankee with the fake name, “Sumner Redstone.”

    Rothstein also owns, via his “Viacom” corporation, Paramount Pictures and the goyim-youth-corrupting MTV.

    Rothstein indeed conspires with his synagogue buddies at CNN, NBC, and ABC.

    CNN is owned by Turner Broadcasting, a division of AT&T’s WarnerMedia, and its key players are Jeff Zucker, President of CNN; Doug Shapiro, Chief Strategist of Turner; and its President, David Levy…JEWS.

    NBC is owned by the Jew, Brian Roberts, who also owns Comcast, an ‘info-monopoly’ to steer the goys in the interests of Jews.

    ABC is owned via Disney by Robert Iger and Alan Braverman. Both JEWS.

    NOW YOU KNOW why all media venues with their Jewish ownership tout the same script:

    Pro-Israel, pro-war, pro-homosexuality, pro-mass immigration, anti-Christian, anti-white.

    Jews are good at dividing society, creating chaos, and fragmenting societal outlooks.

    For in a fractured society ONLY ONE MINORITY rises to the top, JEWS.

    Who said, “The Jews are our misfortune?”

    It wasn’t Hitler, yet still it was a very wise and far-sighted man. Here Here & Here.

    Its Online Hate Index, located at its Center for Technology and Society at the University of California at Berkeley’s D-Lab, marks out specific words posted on videos that they view as embedding broader issues that they fear.

    Words like: white, Duke, black, Brother Nathanael, Tradition, Jew, tradition, Christ, Christianity, are sought out on their Index, then marked and investigated to see if promotion of white interests and criticism of Jewish criminal activities are being aired.

    ‘Black Face’ Blues And Two-Faced Jews

    IN A RECENT HEADLINE in the Haaretz leftist website, Does Racism Now Define Jewish Identity In Israel? the article begs the question and invites an obvious reply:

    Racism has ALWAYS defined Jewish identity ever since the time of Christ when the ages were signified by BC and AD.

    (But the Jews who run academia, in their hatred of Jesus Christ, changed the time-enduring appellations “BC” and “AD” to “BCE” and “CE,” that is, “Before The Common Era,” and “After The Common Era”…using the word ‘COMMON’ to denote the uncommon saving advent of Jesus Christ. DEVILS these Jews!)

    As regards “racist attitudes,” I grew up as a Jew and taught that we were the “chosen people,” and thus, better than the Gentiles, derogatorily referred to in my synagogue as “goys.”

    In another article, Israel Has A Racism Problem, written by an Ethiopian Jew living in Israel, the author urges that condemnation of systemic racism against “black” Ethiopians in Israel must be voiced by Jews worldwide.

    Good luck! You’ve got a “black face!”

    You see, Jews wear a ‘two faced mask’…and which of the two faces they’ll display depends on the country they’re addressing.

    If it’s a ‘black face’ in Israel then ‘the hell with you, you’re not wanted here.’

    If it’s a ‘black face’ in Jewmerica then ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. “You can’t do that!” screams the Jew, “that’s racism!”

    The hypocrisy is glaring. Standing up to the JEW is our righteous task. Here & Here.

    Bernie’s Ready To Rumble//Warren Launches 2020 Campaign

    We’re assaulted with Looney Liz’s “tax the rich” and Bernie the Jew’s “making socialism work for you.”

    Adding to the heap of slogans is an assortment of rants by all the wanna be prez boys and girls queuing up to knock out Trump.

    SO MANY have put their hopes in Trump that he would do what he promised: Stop the wars–End regime change Ops–Make friends with Russia–Create a sane immigration policy–Appoint peace-making foreign affairs diplomats.

    But just the opposite has occurred:

    Sabre rattling against Iran; Regime change south of the border; Inflamed conflict with Russia; and a nutso “wall” battle that could easily be solved by ramping up adjudicators to process asylum petitions that will speedily keep the few worthies in, and promptly send the unsavory back home.

    As regards all the ‘war making’ noise made by Bolton and Pompass, many say that Trump should fire them for their supposed insubordination. Well, he’s done no such thing but rather commends them for “doing a good job.”

    Have the neocon Jews and their goyim shills left the scene? No way. For once Jews get power they never leave and they NEVER retire.

    SO…Does America’ have a future vis-a-vis 2020?

    It’s hard to refute the opinion that America has no future and is headed toward total collapse.

    An overturning is at the door.

    When it opens the Jews will have nowhere to flee! Here, Here & Here.

    Here’s a not so veiled threat under the gobbledygook…

    ~~~*~~~
    AFP: Venezuela’s Guaido: ‘We will do what is necessary’
    Opposition leader Juan Guaido is challenging President Nicolas Maduro for control of crisis-hit Venezuela, a country plagued by hyperinflation, shortages of basic necessities and rampant violence.
    Guaido has declared himself interim president and has been recognized as such by dozens of countries, but Maduro, buoyed by support from the armed forces, has declined to step aside.
    In an interview with AFP, Guaido discusses the entry of foreign aid, contact with the military and whether he would be willing to allow the highly-controversial step of foreign military intervention.
    – Foreign military intervention –
    -Question: Would you use your prerogatives as speaker of the National Assembly and acting president to authorize the intervention of foreign military forces?
    “We will do everything possible, once again, this is obviously a very, very controversial subject, but making use of our sovereignty and, within our jurisdictions, we will do what is necessary.”
    – Entry of foreign aid –
    -Question: How is the entry of humanitarian aid advancing?
    “When we have sufficient supplies, we are going to make a first entry attempt. We know that there is a blockade in Tienditas (on the border with Colombia).”
    “The armed forces have a huge dilemma, whether or not to accept the aid. It would be almost miserable at this point of huge necessity not to accept it.”
    -Question: When will the first attempt be?
    “I think it’s going to be next week, when we have formed the corps of volunteers and organized the distribution process.”
    – Contact with the military –
    -Question: Why do you think the offer of amnesty for members of the military has not yet produced a massive defection from high command?
    “We have to go deeper into that, we saw a division general speak openly a few days ago, we saw some sergeants of the National Guard show discontent and they are being tortured.”
    “Part of what we have to overcome is explaining very well that (the armed forces) have a role in the reconstruction.”
    – Russia and China-
    -Question: Have you had contact with officials from Russia and China (which are allies of Maduro)?
    “I am sure that Moscow and Beijing know the situation in Venezuela really well: Maduro doesn’t have the popular support and he can’t stabilize the economy, which produced the world’s largest inflation of two million percent.”
    – Negotiated solution –
    -Question: Would you receive emissaries of the International Contact Group seeking a negotiated solution?
    “We are ready to talk with everyone, with a very specific agenda.”
    – Pope’s position –
    -Question: Does the position of Pope Francis seem lukewarm?
    “He did not receive anyone from the government, he does not even take them into account anymore.”
    Suddenly out of the public blue, while speaking at the end of a Women’s March rally in Washington, DC, Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House and head of the Democrat Party, declares the seat in the Oval Office to be vacant on the basis of some non-existent Article in the Constitution, herself to be the legitimate president of the US.
    The French president Macron immediately recognizes her as the the legitimate POTUS instead of the duly elected Trump, Pelosi is acclaimed by a conspiratorial handful of the world’s countries in a French-backed orchestrated, pre-organized lawless Otpor! Twitter coup in league with elite expat American Democrats living the rich life in Europe, now recognized as Pelosi’s legitimate government-in-exile.
    That’s how ridiculous Guaido is, and is Trump (along with the rest of the Axis of Weasels inside and outside of the White House are), for ginning up this dangerous neocon folly and recognizing the usurper in an a Venzuelan constitutional farce.
    Sputnik: What’s at Stake in Venezuela is the ‘Concept and Essence of Democracy’ – Scholar
    The decision of 19 EU member states to follow Washington’s suit and support self-proclaimed interim president Juan Guaido undermines the bloc’s authority in foreign affairs, Alejandro Fierro, a member of the Latin American Geopolitical Strategic Centre (CELAG) has told Sputnik.
    It’s the very concept and the essence of democracy that is at stake in Venezuela, says Alejandro Fierro, a member of the Latin American Geopolitical Strategic Centre (CELAG).
    “It is neither about chavism, nor supporting or rejecting [Juan] Guaido, it is the question of democracy”, Fierro told Sputnik Mundo. “What about more than 9 million people who came to vote on 20 May [2018]? (…) People not only expressed their opinions, they put forward an absolutely legitimate demand”.
    He elaborated that the recognition of Guaido, who did not participate in the elections, contradicts the results of the vote “which should serve as an absolute mandate for all external and internal political players”.
    o date, 19 EU countries have recognised self-proclaimed interim president of Venezuela Juan Guaido, de facto denying the results of the May election that re-elected Nicolas Maduro to another term as president.
    On 4 February, the EU member states’ eight-day ultimatum urging Caracas to kick off new presidential election expired.
    According to the scholar, the eight-day term put forward by European countries was “completely unprecedented”, since it has only added to the ongoing political crisis.
    He stressed that “the EU does not have a common foreign policy”, adding that the recent move by European states is “undermining the bloc’s authority in foreign affairs”. According to Fierro, the union “cannot act as a reliable participant in any negotiations or dialogue”.
    “Donald Trump specifies direction and European countries follow it. The EU and many of its member states, including Spain, are dwarves in foreign policy. When I say ‘dwarves’ I say this without any derogatory assessment”, he said referring to the US-led invasion of Libya joined by Washington’s European allies.
    Fierro noted that the situation that is now unfolding in some European states is strikingly similar to that in the countries of the Lima Group, which use foreign issues, or “foreign ghosts,” to divert public attention away from domestic problems.
    “For several years, Venezuela was used as such a ‘ghost’ in some countries”, he remarked, saying that in the countries that recognise Juan Guaido, governments are facing serious internal problems.
    According to the scholar, the focus on Venezuela “is the way to change the subject of debate, to draw the attention of citizens to problems that may be located 7,000 or 9,000 km from their place of residence, instead of solving internal problems”.
    Meanwhile, “chavism continues to remain an enormous political force voluntary supported by millions of people in the country”, Fierro said.
    He refuted the MSM claims that what is going on in Venezuela is the people’s fight against the ruling class: “Anyone who lives in Venezuela can see and record this. This is indicated both by election results and street demonstrations”, he remarked.
    Commenting on Washington’s assumption that the Venezuelan Army may support Guaido, the scholar underscored that the country’s military forces obey neither Maduro nor the government but the principles established by the Constitution.
    “Today there are a lot of speculations about the problem in the army, but I sincerely believe that, unlike the situation 20, 30 or 40 years ago, the commanders of the Venezuelan Army are loyal not to Maduro, Chavez or the government, but to the Constitution adopted in 1999”, Fierro concluded.
    The president of the disempowered National Assembly Juan Guaido declared himself the country’s interim president on 23 January. Earlier, on 5 January, the body, stripped of legislative power following violent protests of 2017, claimed that Maduro’s second term was “illegitimate”.
    The US recognised Guaido calling upon its allies and partners to follow suit. While 19 EU member states took the side of the self-proclaimed leader, Italy refused to recognise him. Russia, China, Turkey, Iran and many other states have signalled their support for Maduro, the legitimately-elected president of Venezuela.
  37. dave February 10, 2019 @ 7:48 am
    Bro
    I love research and I had to further research the article you mention in your Brovid with the German Jew written by this David Israel guy.
    It is nothing short of shocking how mentally disturbed these Jews really are in how perverted they see the world always from “their” perspective.
    Some international psychiatric society should come up with a diagnosis for it. I call it Zionosis, LOL!
    But I’m certainly not indicting all Jews for this perverted Jew-centric paronoid mentality, but an overwhelming majority probably thinks this way.
    Here’s another article I found from the same writer, David Israel, about a report from some Jew international foundation that allegedly tracks anti-Semitic attacks on Jews worldwide.
    Diaspora Ministry Report: Record High Number of Jews Murdered in 2018 Anti-Semitic Attacks
    By David Israel – 21 Shevat 5779 – January 27, 2019
    These are key findings of the Report
    1. In 2018, 13 Jews were murdered in 3 fatal anti-Semitic attacks. This marks the highest number of Jews murdered in anti-Semitic attacks since the attacks on the Argentinean Jewish community in the 1990s.
    2. Record high levels of anti-Semitism on the streets and online. Around 70% of anti-Jewish attacks were anti-Israel in nature, while the height of incitement was recorded around the transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem and the Hamas led “march of return” riots at the Gaza Strip border fence.
    Did you read that?
    “In 2018, 13 Jews were murdered in 3 fatal anti-Semitic attacks”
    13 Jews in the whole world in the whole year and they claim there’s this relentless rise in world anti-Semitism! And of course that’s if these so-called Jews really died or ever were attacked in the first place.
    Remember last summer how every single day the Jew-Zionist owned and controlled fake American mass media lead off with the horrible bomb threats at all those Jew day care centers and whatever then it all suddenly stopped?
    Gee I don’t remember ever hearing on one of their broadcasts that the reason it all stopped was that the F.B.I. caught two jews calling in fake bomb threats from Israel.
    So the question really is; are these Jews that constantly complain about the (artificially created) rise of world anti-semitism suffering from mass paranoic schizophrenia/psychosis or are they knowingly, deliberately, intentionally falsely creating this as an excuse to force goy-world to implement an apparatus to protect them, like an “anti-Semitic police force”.
  38. dave February 10, 2019 @ 8:06 am
    “The Palestinians look at everything from a broad and long-term perspective. They see there are six million Jews here surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arabs. They have no reason to give in because the Jewish state can’t last.”
    There’s that famous 6 million again – they just love that number don’t they.
  39. Protocol 24 February 10, 2019 @ 1:51 pm
    It looks like the Demonrat party has recently been directed to start complying with protocol 24 of the POZ, the last protocol in the POZ.
    Per POZ 24, the Zionists want to portray their rulers, their parties, their movements as being fit, good, righteous. Their rulers are largely evil, but must be portrayed as good on TV, in the jewspapers, mass media.
    The Zionists and their DemonRat puppets have an evil history of double standards, calling something bad when a Christian does it, but okay when a Dem does it. Recently, the DemonRats seem to be having Protocol 24 applied to them, ie Demonrat leaders of Virginia.
    Part of Protocol 24 is about removing those who are unfit, immoral, corrupt, from being leaders in the Jew World Order. The JWO has to appear legitimate, on the level, the real deal.
    Notice the ongoing scandal with the top leaders in Virginia state government, all DemonRats. The governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general of Virginia are all involved in matters which have long been condemned by DemonRats.
    These matters include wearing blackface by the governor and AG, forcible sexual assault committed by the lieutenant governor. To make the DemonRat party appear consistent and righteous, the Zionists want these 3 top Virginia leaders to resign.
    This is opposite how the Zionists and Jews Media operated only 20 years ago by defending all the evils of Bill Clinton including forcible rape, keeping Clinton in office instead of forcing him to resign.
    Notice POZ 24:6 and 24:7 in particular at the following link –
    http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/przion7.htm#PROTOCOL%20No.%2024
    6. Only those who are unconditionally capable for firm, even if it be to cruelty, direct rule will receive the reins of rule from our learned elders.
    7. In case of falling sick with weakness of will or other form of incapacity, kings must by law hand over the reins of rule to new and capable hands.
    This suggests the Zionists must be close to setting up their messiah, their “King of the Jews” which is also part of Protocol 24.
    Sydney Morning Herald: Venezuela says US is delivering weapons to Maduro enemies
    February 8, 2019
    Washington: Venezuelan authorities say a US-owned air freight company delivered a crate of assault weapons earlier this week to the international airport in Valencia to be used in “terrorist actions” against the embattled government of Nicolas Maduro.
    An air freight company, 21 Air, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, operates the Boeing 767 aircraft that the Venezuelans allege was used in the arms transfer. The flight originated in Miami on Sunday.
    The Boeing 767 has made dozens of flights between Miami International Airport and destinations in Colombia and Venezuela since January 11, a flight tracking service shows, often returning to Miami for only a few hours before flying again to South America.
    The discovery of the weapons occurred on Tuesday – two days after the flight landed briefly in Valencia, Venezuela’s third-largest city – as tax authorities and other inspectors conducted a routine inspection of cargo that came off the flight, according to a statement by the Carabobo state governor’s office.
    A senior Venezuelan security official, Bolivarian National Guard General Endes Palencia Ortiz, who is the nation’s vice minister of citizen security, said authorities found 19 assault weapons, 118 ammunition cartridges, and 90 military-grade radio antennas, among other items.
    “This materiel was destined for criminal groups and terrorist actions in the country, financed by the fascist extreme right and the government of the United States,” Palencia Ortiz was quoted as saying.
    The freight company, begun five years ago, operates two cargo planes, a Boeing 747 and a Boeing 767, according to the 21 Air website. The Boeing 767, a 32-year-old aircraft once flown by the now-defunct Brazilian carrier Varig, carries the registration N-881-YV and is the aircraft that landed in Valencia on Sunday.
    The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent through its website. The cellular phone of the company’s chief executive, Michael Mendez, had a recording on Thursday afternoon that said it could not accept calls.
    An Ottawa, Canada-based analyst of unusual ship and plane movements, Steffan Watkins, drew attention to the frequent flights of the 21 Air cargo plane in a series of tweets on Thursday, US time.
    “All year, they were flying between Philadelphia and Miami and all over the place, but all continental US,” Watkins said in a telephone interview. “Then all of a sudden in January, things changed.”
    That’s when the cargo plane began flying to destinations in Colombia and Venezuela on a daily basis, and sometimes multiple times a day, Watkins said. The plane has made close to 40 round-trip flights from Miami International Airport to Caracas and Valencia in Venezuela, and Bogota and Medellin in Colombia since January 11.
    The most recent tracking of the aircraft showed it arrived from Medellin into Miami airport after midnight on Thursday.
    The air cargo company’s website says that the Boeing 767 has a payload capacity of 42 tonnes.
    The provenance of the alleged weaponry was not apparent. And questions about who the arms shipment was destined for, if the Venezuelan version of events is true, only mounted. Delivery at a commercial airport would indicate that somebody with authority there would have had a hand.
    Venezuelan authorities displayed the weaponry that they said was delivered by the 21 Air cargo plane on open-air tables draped in red cloth. Some of the rifles included stands for long-range targeting.
    The shipment included 15 AR-15 assault weapons, a Micro Draco semiautomatic pistol with a jumbo magazine, a Colt 7.62 rifle and two telescopic sights, the governor’s statement said.
    Valencia was a former manufacturing and economic hub before the collapse of the nation’s economy.
    Flight records from the tracking site flightradar24.com, monitored by Watkins, indicate that the 21 Air cargo plane flew at least four times to Valencia from Miami and another four times to Caracas from Miami since January 11. In many cases, the flights would head on to Bogota or Medellin before returning to Miami.
    If some US entity were attempting to provide arms to a Venezuelan resistance movement, it would be taking a familiar page from the history books.
    The CIA operated a dummy airline, known as Air America, from the early 1950s until the mid 1970s for air operations in Southeast Asia, including air-dropping weapons to friendly forces.
    More than a decade later, Sandinista soldiers shot down a cargo plane taking weapons to the US-backed Contra rebels fighting the Nicaraguan government. A US. Marine veteran, Eugene Hasenfus, survived the 1986 crash, and later told reporters that he was working for the CIA, paving the way for his release and return to the United States.
    Curiously, one of the figures in the Reagan administration instrumental in delivering support to the contras, former assistant secretary of state Elliott Abrams, was named by US President Donald Trump late last month as his special envoy overseeing policy toward Venezuela.
    When Donald Trump promised that he would only hire the “best people,” maybe he should have been pressed on what, exactly, they would be good at. Because it’s clearly not running the US government.
    Over the past two years, it has become clear that liars, grifters, conmen, opportunists, and crooks seem to be drawn to the president like flies to … well, you know.
    Now, however, a situation is arising for which one of Trump’s “best people” seems ideally suited for forcing regime change somewhere in the Americas.
    At a time when the president seems intent on getting the US out of Syria and Afghanistan, he appears to be equally determined to plunge headfirst into the chaos in Venezuela.
    His point person for this adventure is Elliott Abrams, who has a long history of mucking around in the US’s backyard — often with dubious methods. In other words, he’ll fit right in.
    To those unfamiliar with Abrams, here are the CliffsNotes: In the early 1980s, Abrams served as assistant secretary of state for human rights, which, in retrospect, seems like some kind of cruel joke.
    In that position, Abrams once stated that former Guatemalan leader General Efraín Ríos Montt “brought considerable progress” to human rights in his country.
    In case you are not familiar with Ríos Montt, he was convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity in 2013.
    Abrams’s motives back then seemed to be consistent with the goals of the military-industrial complex: He wanted an embargo on military aid to Guatemala to be lifted.
    Just as an aside, and unrelated to Abrams but possibly relevant to Venezuela, the CIA-engineered coup in Guatemala in 1954 did nothing to stabilize the country and led to a brutal and lengthy civil war.
    Around the same time, Abrams sought to downplay reports of a massacre in El Salvador and testified before the Senate that the incident was being used for guerilla propaganda.
    A decade later, however, the UN-approved Salvadoran Truth Commission found that more than 500 civilians were “deliberately and systematically” murdered during that massacre.
    At the time, the Reagan administration was worried about El Salvador becoming a communist country and falling under the influence of the Soviet Union and spent billions to provide weapons to El Salvador’s military. Oh, and there was a brutal and lengthy civil war.
    But Abrams truly left his mark when trying to solicit funding for the Nicaraguan Contras from the Sultan of Brunei. He later tried to cover up what happened and ended up pleading guilty to two counts of withholding information from Congress. He was pardoned by George H.W. Bush.
    All of this, of course, had to do with the US government supporting far-right “rebels” in Nicaragua and it involves a lengthy civil war that took a terrible toll on the country.
    You may be detecting a pattern here.
    We were certainly skeptical when it was announced that Abrams would be the special envoy for Venezuela. Throw in John Bolton and you have all of the ingredients you need for another neocon clusterf–k.
    While Venezuela seems in urgent need of assistance, history has shown time and again that when the US “helps” in the Americas, almost everybody ends up worse than before — apart from the new US-backed right-wing regime and the people who supply the weapons.
    Just ask Abrams, who has had a front-row seat for some of the worst examples.
    Based on his track record, he will make a terrible situation much worse. But maybe that’s the plan. And then he would certainly be the right man for the job.
    FreeThought Project: WikiLeaks Tweets Army Manual Detailing How US Weaponized Banking Cartel to Take Down Nations
    The “U.S. Coup Manual” details how financial institutions like the World Bank and IMF are used as “financial weapons” used by the US to bring non-compliant nations to their knees.
    Spread the love
    4.3K58
    (MPN) — In a leaked military manual on “unconventional warfare” recently highlighted by WikiLeaks, the U.S. Army states that major global financial institutions — such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) — are used as unconventional, financial “weapons in times of conflict up to and including large-scale general war,” as well as in leveraging “the policies and cooperation of state governments.”
    The document, officially titled “Field Manual (FM) 3-05.130, Army Special Operations Forces Unconventional Warfare” and originally written in September 2008, was recently highlighted by WikiLeaks on Twitter in light of recent events in Venezuela as well as the years-long, U.S.-led economic siege of that country through sanctions and other means of economic warfare.
    Though the document has generated new interest in recent days, it had originally been released by WikiLeaks in December 2008 and has been described as the military’s “regime change handbook.”
    WikiLeaks’ recent tweets on the subject drew attention to a single section of the 248-page-long document, titled “Financial Instrument of U.S. National Power and Unconventional Warfare.”
    This section in particular notes that the U.S. government applies “unilateral and indirect financial power through persuasive influence to international and domestic financial institutions regarding availability and terms of loans, grants, or other financial assistance to foreign state and nonstate actors,” and specifically names the World Bank, IMF and The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), as well as the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), as “U.S. diplomatic-financial venues to accomplish” such goals.
    The manual also touts the “state manipulation of tax and interest rates” along with other “legal and bureaucratic measures” to “open, modify or close financial flows” and further states that the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) – which oversees U.S. sanctions on other nations, like Venezuela — “has a long history of conducting economic warfare valuable to any ARSOF [Army Special Operations Forces] UW [Unconventional Warfare] campaign.”
    This section of the manual goes on to note that these financial weapons can be used by the U.S. military to create “financial incentives or disincentives to persuade adversaries, allies and surrogates to modify their behavior at the theater strategic, operational, and tactical levels” and that such unconventional warfare campaigns are highly coordinated with the State Department and the Intelligence Community in determining “which elements of the human terrain in UWOA [Unconventional Warfare Operations Area] are most susceptible to financial engagement.”
    The role of these “independent” international financial institutions as extensions of U.S. imperial power is elaborated elsewhere in the manual and several of these institutions are described in detail in an appendix to the manual titled “The Financial Instrument of National Power.” Notably, the World Bank and the IMF are listed as both Financial Instruments and Diplomatic Instruments of U.S. National Power as well as integral parts of what the manual calls the “current global governance system.”
    Furthermore, the manual states that the U.S. military “understand[s] that properly integrated manipulation of economic power can and should be a component of UW,” meaning that these weapons are a regular feature of unconventional warfare campaigns waged by the United States.
    Another point of interest is that these financial weapons are largely governed by the National Security Council (NSC), which is currently headed by John Bolton. The document notes that the NSC “has primary responsibility for the integration of the economic and military instruments of national power abroad.”
    NewsVoice: President Nicolas Maduro: An Open Letter to the People of the United States
    The following open letter was published online by President Nicolas Maduro on his personal Twitter account. NewsVoice publish the unedited letter in its entirety.
    The translation was provided by Nino Pagliccia a freelance writer and activist with focus on the Americas. / Torbjorn Sassersson, editor, NewsVoice.se
    Nicolas Maduro writes:
    “If I know anything, it is about peoples, such as you, I am a man of the people. I was born and raised in a poor neighborhood of Caracas. I forged myself in the heat of popular and union struggles in a Venezuela submerged in exclusion and inequality.
    I am not a tycoon, I am a worker of reason and heart, today I have the great privilege of presiding over the new Venezuela, rooted in a model of inclusive development and social equality, which was forged by Commander Hugo Chávez since 1998 inspired by the Bolivarian legacy.
    We live today a historical trance. There are days that will define the future of our countries between war and peace.
    Your national representatives of Washington want to bring to their borders the same hatred that they planted in Vietnam.
    They want to invade and intervene in Venezuela – they say, as they said then – in the name of democracy and freedom. But it’s not like that.
    The history of the usurpation of power in Venezuela is as false as the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. It is a false case, but it can have dramatic consequences for our entire region.
    Venezuela is a country that, by virtue of its 1999 Constitution, has broadly expanded the participatory and protagonist democracy of the people, and that is unprecedented today, as one of the countries with the largest number of electoral processes in its last 20 years.
    You might not like our ideology or our appearance, but we exist and we are millions.
    I address these words to the people of the United States of America to warn of the gravity and danger that intend some sectors in the White House to invade Venezuela with unpredictable consequences for my country and for the entire American region.
    President Donald Trump also intends to disturb noble dialogue initiatives promoted by Uruguay and Mexico with the support of CARICOM for a peaceful solution and dialogue in favor of Venezuela.
    We know that for the good of Venezuela we have to sit down and talk because to refuse to dialogue is to choose strength as a way.
    Keep in mind the words of John F. Kennedy: “Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate”. Are those who do not want to dialogue afraid of the truth?
    The political intolerance towards the Venezuelan Bolivarian model and the desires for our immense oil resources, minerals, and other great riches, has prompted an international coalition headed by the US government to commit the serious insanity of militarily attacking Venezuela under the false excuse of a non-existent humanitarian crisis.
    The people of Venezuela have suffered painfully social wounds caused by a criminal commercial and financial blockade, which has been aggravated by the dispossession and robbery of our financial resources and assets in countries aligned with this demented onslaught.
    And yet, thanks to a new system of social protection, of direct attention to the most vulnerable sectors, we proudly continue to be a country with high human development index and lower inequality in the Americas.
    The American people must know that this complex multiform aggression is carried out with total impunity and in clear violation of the Charter of the United Nations, which expressly outlaws the threat or use of force, among other principles and purposes for the sake of peace and the friendly relations between the Nations.
    We want to continue being business partners of the people of the United States, as we have been throughout our history.
    Their politicians in Washington, on the other hand, are willing to send their sons and daughters to die in an absurd war, instead of respecting the sacred right of the Venezuelan people to self-determination and safeguarding their sovereignty.
    Like you, people of the United States, we Venezuelans are patriots. And we shall defend our homeland with all the pieces of our soul.
    Today Venezuela is united in a single clamor: we demand the cessation of the aggression that seeks to suffocate our economy and socially suffocate our people, as well as the cessation of the serious and dangerous threats of military intervention against Venezuela.
    We appeal to the good soul of the American society, a victim of its own leaders, to join our call for peace, let us be all one people against warmongering and war.
    Long live the peoples of America!
    Nicolás Maduro
    President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”
  47. Protocol 24 February 11, 2019 @ 2:06 pm
    Revolutions like the one being instigated in Venezuela by Zionists are meant to replace government leaders not under Zionist control with puppet politicians who are under Zionist control.
    The puppet politicians are used to bring all governments under the Jew World Order, JWO. This is the reason for toppling governments in Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, etc.
    Past RJN comments have asked why Al Franken, Anthony Weiner, Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, and such prominent Jews were removed from power. Punishment of prominent Jews and Democrats for sexual misconduct is a big change from past tradition.
    Now, this new policy of removing unfit Jews and Dems from power is being applied to Dems who lead Virginia state government – Northam, Fairfax, and Herring. Apparently the Zionists have gotten to Protocol 24, the last one of their evil protocols. Unlike with leaders in goy governments, the Zionists want JWO leaders to look legitimate.
    To start carrying out Protocol 24, Zionists would be thinking that the previous 23 protocols have been carried out well enough to take the JWO mainstream and set up their messiah.
    One of the first orders of business after the JWO and its ruler gain absolute control over the world, will likely be to exterminate Christianity and Christians. The ~80 million Russian Christians murdered by the Zionist Jews after they murdered the Czar and his family and subverted the government of Russia, exemplifies what to expect.
    This worldwide purge of Christians by the Devil and his children seems to be at the core of what the Bible calls the great tribulation in Scripture like Matt 24, Mark 13, Rev 7.
    What the Press Hides From You About Venezuela
    OffGuardian: A Case of News-Suppression All Across the Mainstream Media
    INTRODUCTION
    This news-report is being submitted to all US and allied news-media, and is being published by all honest ones, in order to inform you of crucial facts that the others — the dishonest ones, who hide such crucial facts — are hiding about Venezuela. These are facts that have received coverage only in one single British newspaper: the Independent, which published a summary account of them on January 26th.
    That newspaper’s account will be excerpted here at the end, but first will be highlights from its topic, the official report to the UN General Assembly in August of last year, which has been covered-up ever since. This is why that report’s author has now gone to the Independent, desperate to get the story out, finally, to the public.
    THE COVERED-UP DOCUMENT
    On 3 August 2018, the UN’s General Assembly received the report from the UN’s Independent Expert on the Promotion of a Democratic and Equitable International Order, concerning his mission to Venezuela and Ecuador.
    https://tinyurl.com/UN-Report-Venezuela-Ecuador
    His recent travel though both countries focused on “how best to enhance the enjoyment of all human rights by the populations of both countries.”
    He “noted the eradication of illiteracy, free education from primary school to university, and programmes to reduce extreme poverty, provide housing to the homeless and vulnerable, phase out privilege and discrimination, and extend medical care to everyone.”
    He noted “that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and Ecuador, both devote around 70 per cent of their national budgets to social services.” However (and here, key paragraphs from the report are now quoted):
    22. Observers have identified errors committed by the Chávez and Maduro Governments, noting that there are too many ideologues and too few technocrats in public administration, resulting in government policies that lack coherence and professional management and discourage domestic investment, already crippled by inefficiency and corruption, which extend to government officials, transnational corporations and entrepreneurs.
    Critics warn about the undue influence of the military on government and on the running of enterprises like Petróleos de Venezuela. The lack of regular, publicly available data on nutrition, epidemiology and inflation are said to complicate efforts to provide humanitarian support.
    23. Meanwhile, the Attorney General, Tarek Saab, has launched a vigorous anticorruption campaign, investigating the links between Venezuelan enterprises and tax havens, contracting scams, and deals by public officials with Odebrecht. It is estimated that corruption in the oil industry has cost the Government US$ 4.8 billion.
    The Attorney General’s Office informed the Independent Expert of pending investigations for embezzlement and extortion against 79 officials of Petróleos de Venezuela, including 22 senior managers. The Office also pointed to the arrest of two high-level oil executives, accused of money-laundering in Andorra.
    The Ministry of Justice estimates corruption losses at some US$ 15 billion. Other stakeholders, in contrast, assert that anti-corruption programmes are selective and have not sufficiently targeted State institutions, including the military.
    29. …Over the past sixty years, non-conventional economic wars have been waged against Cuba, Chile, Nicaragua, the Syrian Arab Republic and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in order to make their economies fail, facilitate regime change and impose a neo-liberal socioeconomic model.
    In order to discredit selected governments, failures in the field of human rights are maximized so as to make violent overthrow more palatable. Human rights are being “weaponized” against rivals. Yet, human rights are the heritage of every human being and should never be instrumentalized as weapons of demonization.
    30. The principles of non-intervention and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign States belong to customary international law and have been reaffirmed in General Assembly resolutions, notably [a list is supplied].
    31. In its judgment of 27 June 1986 concerning Nicaragua v. United States, the International Court of Justice quoted from [UN] resolution 2625 (XXV): “no State shall organize, assist, foment, finance, incite or tolerate subversive, terrorist or armed activities directed towards the violent overthrow of the regime of another State, or interfere in civil strife in another State”.
    36. The effects of sanctions imposed by Presidents Obama and Trump and unilateral measures by Canada and the European Union have directly and indirectly aggravated the shortages in medicines such as insulin and anti-retroviral drugs.
    To the extent that economic sanctions have caused delays in distribution and thus contributed to many deaths, sanctions contravene the human rights obligations of the countries imposing them.Moreover, sanctions can amount to crimes against humanity under Article 7 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. An investigation by that Court would be appropriate, but the geopolitical submissiveness of the Court may prevent this.
    37. Modern-day economic sanctions and blockades are comparable with medieval sieges of towns with the intention of forcing them to surrender. Twenty-first century sanctions attempt to bring not just a town, but sovereign countries to their knees.
    A difference, perhaps, is that twenty-first century sanctions are accompanied by the manipulation of public opinion through “fake news”, aggressive public relations and a pseudo-human rights rhetoric so as to give the impression that a human rights “end” justifies the criminal means.
    39. Economic asphyxiation policies are comparable to those already practised in Chile, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Nicaragua and the Syrian Arab Republic.
    In January 2018, Middle East correspondent of The Financial Times and The Independent, Patrick Cockburn, wrote on the sanctions affecting Syria: There is usually a pretence that foodstuffs and medical equipment are being allowed through freely and no mention is made of the financial and other regulatory obstacles making it impossible to deliver them.
    An example of this is the draconian sanctions imposed on Syria by the US and EU which were meant to target President Bashar al-Assad and help remove him from power. They have wholly failed to do this, but a UN internal report leaked in 2016 shows all too convincingly the effect of the embargo in stopping the delivery of aid by international aid agencies.
    They cannot import the aid despite waivers because banks and commercial companies dare not risk being penalised for having anything to do with Syria. The report quotes a European doctor working in Syria as saying that “the indirect effect of sanctions … makes the import of the medical instruments and other medical supplies immensely difficult, near impossible”. In short: economic sanctions kill.
    41. Bearing in mind that Venezuelan society is polarized, what is most needed is dialogue between the Government and the opposition, and it would be a noble task on the part of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to offer his good offices for such a dialogue.
    Yet, opposition leaders Antonio Ledezma and Julio Borges, during a trip through Europe to denounce the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, called for further sanctions as well as a military “humanitarian intervention”.
    44. Although the situation in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has not yet reached the humanitarian crisis threshold, there is hunger, malnutrition, anxiety, anguish and emigration. What is crucial is to study the causes of the crisis, including neglected factors of sanctions, sabotage, hoarding, black market activities, induced inflation and contraband in food and medicines.
    45. The “crisis” in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is an economic crisis, which cannot be compared with the humanitarian crises in Gaza, Yemen, Libya, the Syrian Arab Republic, Iraq, Haiti, Mali, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Somalia, or Myanmar, among others.
    It is significant that when, in 2017, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela requested medical aid from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the plea was rejected, because it ”is still a high-income country … and as such is not eligible”.
    46. It is pertinent to recall the situation in the years prior to the election of Hugo Chávez. 118 Corruption was ubiquitous and in 1993, President Carlos Pérez was removed because of embezzlement.
    The Chávez election in 1998 reflected despair with the corruption and neo-liberal policies of the 1980s and 1990s, and rejection of the gulf between the super-rich and the abject poor.
    47. Participatory democracy in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, called “protagónica,” is anchored in the Constitution of 1999 and relies on frequent elections and referendums.
    During the mission, the Independent Expert exchanged views with the Electoral Commission and learned that in the 19 years since Chávez, 25 elections and referendums had been conducted, 4 of them observed by the Carter Center. The Independent Expert met with the representative of the Carter Center in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who recalled Carter’s positive assessment of the electoral system.
    They also discussed the constitutional objections raised by the opposition to the referendum held on 30 July 2017, resulting in the creation of a Constitutional Assembly. Over 8 million Venezuelans voted in the referendum, which was accompanied by international observers, including from the Council of Electoral Specialists of Latin America.
    48. An atmosphere of intimidation accompanied the mission, attempting to pressure the Independent Expert into a predetermined matrix. He received letters from NGOs asking him not to proceed because he was not the “relevant” rapporteur, and almost dictating what should be in the report.
    Weeks before his arrival, some called the mission a “fake investigation”. Social media insults bordered on “hate speech” and “incitement”.
    Mobbing before, during and after the mission bore a resemblance to the experience of two American journalists who visited the country in July 2017. Utilizing platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, critics questioned the Independent Expert’s integrity and accused him of bias, demonstrating a culture of intransigence and refusal to accept the duty of an independent expert to be neutral, objective, dispassionate and to apply his expertise free of external pressures.
    67. The Independent Expert recommends that the General Assembly:
    (g) Invoke article 96 of the Charter of the United Nations and refer the following questions to the International Court of Justice: Can unilateral coercive measures be compatible with international law?
    Can unilateral coercive measures amount to crimes against humanity when a large number of persons perish because of scarcity of food and medicines? What reparations are due to the victims of sanctions? Do sanctions and currency manipulations constitute geopolitical crimes?
    (h) Adopt a resolution along the lines of the resolutions on the United States embargo against Cuba, declaring the sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela contrary to international law and human rights law. …
    70. The Independent Expert recommends that the International Criminal Court investigate the problem of unilateral coercive measures that cause death from malnutrition, lack of medicines and medical equipment.
    72. The Independent Expert recommends that, until the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court address the lethal outcomes of economic wars and sanctions regimes, the Permanent Peoples Tribunal, the Russell Tribunal and the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission undertake the task so as to facilitate future judicial pronouncements.
    On January 26th, Britain’s Independent headlined “Venezuela crisis: Former UN rapporteur says US sanctions are killing citizens”, and Michael Selby-Green reported that:
    “The first UN rapporteur to visit Venezuela for 21 years has told The Independent the US sanctions on the country are illegal and could amount to “crimes against humanity” under international law.
    Former special rapporteur Alfred de Zayas, who finished his term at the UN in March, has criticized the US for engaging in “economic warfare” against Venezuela which he said is hurting the economy and killing Venezuelans.
    The comments come amid worsening tensions in the country after the US and UK have backed Juan Guaido, who appointed himself “interim president” of Venezuela as hundreds of thousands marched to support him….
    The US Treasury has not responded to a request for comment on Mr de Zayas’s allegations of the effects of the sanctions programme.
    US sanctions prohibit dealing in currencies issued by the Venezuelan government. They also target individuals, and stop US-based companies or people from buying and selling new debt issued by PDVSA or the government.
    The US has previously defended its sanctions on Venezuela, with a senior US official saying in 2018: “The fact is that the greatest sanction on Venezuelan oil and oil production is called Nicolas Maduro, and PDVSA’s inefficiencies,” referring to the state-run oil body, Petroleos de Venezuela, SA.
    Mr De Zayas’s findings are based on his late-2017 mission to the country and interviews with 12 Venezuelan government minsters, opposition politicians, 35 NGOs working in the country, academics, church officials, activists, chambers of commerce and regional UN agencies.
    The US imposed new sanctions against Venezuela on 9 March 2015, when President Barack Obama issued executive order 13692, declaring the country a threat to national security.
    The sanctions have since intensified under Donald Trump, who has also threatened military invasion and discussed a coup….
    Despite being the first UN official to visit and report from Venezuela in 21 years, Mr de Zayas said his research into the causes of the country’s economic crisis has so far largely been ignored by the UN and the media, and caused little debate within the Human Rights Council.
    He believes his report has been ignored because it goes against the popular narrative that Venezuela needs regime change.
    The then UN high commissioner, Zeid Raad Al Hussein, reportedly refused to meet Mr de Zayas after the visit, and the Venezuela desk of the UN Human Rights Council also declined to help with his work after his return despite being obliged to do so, Mr de Zayas claimed….
    Ivan Briscoe, Latin America and Caribbean programme director for Crisis Group, an international NGO, told The Independent that Venezuela is a polarising subject. … Briscoe is critical of Mr de Zayas’s report because it highlights US economic warfare but in his view neglects to mention the impact of a difficult business environment in the country. … Briscoe acknowledged rising tensions and the likely presence of US personnel operating covertly in the country…
    Eugenia Russian, president of FUNDALATIN, one of the oldest human rights NGOs in Venezuela, founded in 1978 before the Chavez and Maduro governments and with special consultative status at the UN, spoke to The Independent on the significance of the sanctions…
    “In contact with the popular communities, we consider that one of the fundamental causes of the economic crisis in the country is the effect that the unilateral coercive sanctions that are applied in the economy, especially by the government of the United States,” Ms Russian said.
    She said there may also be causes from internal errors, but said probably few countries in the world have suffered an “economic siege” like the one Venezuelans are living under…
    In his report, Mr de Zayas expressed concern that those calling the situation a “humanitarian crisis” are trying to justify regime change and that human rights are being “weaponised” to discredit the government and make violent overthrow more “palatable”…
    Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world and an abundance of other natural resources including gold, bauxite and coltan. But under the Maduro government they’re not easily accessible to US and transnational corporations.
    US oil companies had large investments in Venezuela in the early 20th century but were locked out after Venezuelans voted to nationalise the industry in 1973.”
    Other than readers of that single newspaper, where has the public been able to find these facts? If the public can have these facts hidden from them, then how much trust should the public reasonably have in the government, and in the news-media?
    IMPORTANT NOTES
    Zeid Raad Al Hussein, who “reportedly refused to meet Mr de Zayas after the visit,” is Prince Zeid Raad Al Hussein, a Jordanian Prince. Jordan is a vassal-state in the US empire. But Prince Hussein is a Jordanian diplomat who served as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2014 to 2018 — hardly an unbiased or independent person in such a supposedly nonpartisan role.
    Here is the garbage that a reader comes to, who is trying to find online Mr. de Zayas’s report on this matter.
    As intended, the document remains effectively hidden to the present day. Perhaps the UN needs to be replaced and located in Venezuela, Iran, or some other country that’s targeted for take-over by the people who effectively own the United States Government and control the UN’s bureaucracy. The hiding of this document was done not only by the press but by the UN itself.
    On January 23rd, Germany’s Die Zeit headlined “Christoph Flügge: ‘I am deeply disturbed’: The UN International Criminal Court Judge Christoph Flügge Accuses Western Nations of Threatening the Independence of the Judges”.
    Flügge especially cited US President Trump’s agent, John Bolton. That same day, the Democratic Party and Labour Party organ, Britain’s Guardian, bannered “International criminal court: UN court judge quits The Hague citing political interference”.
    This news-report said that, “A senior judge has resigned from one of the UN’s international courts in The Hague citing ‘shocking’ political interference from the White House and Turkey.” The judge especially criticised Bolton:
    The American security adviser held his speech at a time when The Hague was planning preliminary investigations into American soldiers who had been accused of torturing people in Afghanistan.
    The American threats against international judges clearly show the new political climate. It is shocking. I had never heard such a threat.” Flügge said that the judges on the court had been “stunned” that “the US would roll out such heavy artillery.”
    Flügge told the Guardian: “It is consistent with the new American line: ‘We are No 1 and we stand above the law’.”
    On February 6th, a former UK Ambassador to Syria vented at an alt-news site, 21st Century Wire (since he couldn’t get any of the major-media sites to publish it), “A Guide to Decoding the Doublespeak on Syria”, and he brazenly exposed there the Doublespeak-Newspeak that the US Government and press (what he called America’s “frothing neocons and their liberal interventionist fellow travellers”) apply in order to report the ‘news’ about Syria.
    So: how can the public, in a country such as the US, democratically control the Government, if the government and its press are lying to them, like that, all the time, and so routinely?
    21st Century Wire: Peter Ford: A Guide to Decoding the Doublespeak on Syria
    The prospect of US withdrawal from Syria has taken the use of doublespeak by frothing neocons and their liberal interventionist fellow travellers to a new level.
    Here to help the confused observer is a glossary of some of the most frequently used key terms and their true meanings, along with guidance on usages deemed taboo in Western policy-making and media circles.
    Entrenched. As in: ‘We have to stop Iran getting more entrenched in Syria’.
    Meaning: ‘Supportive’. Without Iran and Hizbollah helping Syria government forces ISIS and Al Qaida would be ruling the roost in Syria today.
    Do not say: ‘Israel is becoming more and more entrenched in the West Bank and Golan’.
    Forward deployment. ‘US troops are in forward deployment in the Al Tanf enclave on the Syria – Iraq border’.
    Meaning: Occupation. The US troops have no mandate to be there, not even the approval of the US Congress.
    Engagement. ‘Ambassador Jeffrey is the Secretary’s Envoy for Syria Engagement’.
    Meaning: Disengagement. Much to his chagrin, the archetypal hawk Jeffrey had his pledge to the effect that the US was in Syria for the duration unsaid by the president within hours of his uttering it.
    Since then he appears to have lost his tongue.
    Vacuum. ‘The US will be leaving a vacuum when it pulls troops out’.
    Meaning: Restoration of law and order. Once the US stops blocking the way the Syrian government will return to the currently US-controlled territory and will keep ISIS down, as it is doing in the rest of Syria, and Turkey out.
    Syria. ‘ With the withdrawal he’s handing Syria over to the Russians and the Iranians’.
    Meaning: The one and a half provinces of Syria (Hasakeh and part of Deir Ez Zor) currently controlled by the US.
    Blinkered Western armchair strategists are blind to the fact that Russia and Iran are already influential in the larger part of the country controlled by the Syrian government.
    Land bridge. ‘ We must stop Iran from creating a land bridge across Syria by keeping troops in Al Tanf’.
    Meaning: We know journalists are too lazy to look at a map so we ignore the fact that semi-US occupied Iraq, helpfully characterised this week by President Trump as a big spy base, stands between Iran and Syria.
    Anyway Iran could use other crossing points besides Al Tanf if it got tired of resupplying Hizbollah by air.
    Lose.‘How the US lost Syria’.
    Meaning : Win. Syria was never ‘ours’, as President Trump has also helpfully explained.
    By leaving, the US does itself a huge favour, avoiding another 19 year unwinnable war like Afghanistan.
    Malign. ‘Pompeo lashed Iran’s malign behaviour destabilising the region’.
    Meaning: Helpful, beneficient. Without Iran and Hizbollah Syria would not be almost rid of ISIS.
    For. ‘At this crucial juncture we need a serious policy for Syria’.
    Meaning: Against. Almost invariably those wanting a policy for another country are scheming up some evil.
    Even well-meaning folk can unconsciously slip into this condescending neo-imperialist mode. Never say: ‘I wonder if Syria has a policy for the UK, which seems unstable.’
    Regime. ‘The Syrian regime’.
    Meaning: Government. Never say: ‘The Saudi regime’, except in the immediate aftermath of a particularly gruesome murder of a critic with Western connections.
    Stabilise. ‘Our programmes support local administrations aimed at helping to stabilise the areas outside Syrian government control’.
    Meaning: Destabilise, help engineer partition.
    Destabilise. ‘Russia’s provision of S-300 missiles will destabilise the situation with Israel’.
    Meaning: Stabilise. These purely defensive missiles will help deter any reckless politicians with the feds breathing down their necks from launching yet more air-borne attacks on Syria.
    Safe zone. ‘Turkey wants a safe zone 20 miles deep all along the border with Syria’.
    Meaning: Danger zone. Currently the border is quiet. A Turkish incursion or attempted insertion of proxy forces would be bloodily resisted by the Kurds.
    The Syrian government can guarantee the area stays quiet, given a chance.
    Embolden. ‘US withdrawal will embolden Iran and Russia’.
    Meaning: Not kowtowing to US regional hegemony. Never say: ‘Western support for Israeli bombing of Syria has emboldened Netanyahu’.
    And finally, a gloss on the propagators of many of the above terms:
    Think tank. The likes of Washington Institute for the Middle East, Heritage Foundation, Henry Jackson Society, Chatham House, RUSI.
    Meaning: Bilge tanks.
    Generously funded perches for neocons resting between regime change assignments and academics for hire, producing garbage predictions proven wrong time and time again and rewarded with new commissions.
    Venezuela Analysis: CIA in Venezuela: 7 Rules for Regime Change
    U.S. regime change operations in Latin America have seven consistent features.
    February 8, 2019
    “The CIA has a 75-year history of regime change operations in Latin America going back to the coup in Guatemala (1954), the failed invasion of Cuba (1961), scores of assassination attempts in Cuba (1961-2001), the invasion of the Dominican Republic (1965), election meddling and a coup in Chile (1964-73), intervention in Nicaragua (1980s), invasion of Panama (1990) and a soft coup in Honduras (2009).
    While we don’t have verifiable information about the CIA’s activities in Venezuela today, U.S. regime change operations in Latin America have seven consistent features, some of which are visible in Venezuela today.”
    1. Work with local intelligence service
    2. Package covert operations as “public diplomacy,” “promoting democracy,” and/or “protecting human rights”
    3. Create new pseudo-independent front groups
    4. Use the State Department to support existing parties that align themselves with regime change
    5. Build domestic support via Washington think tanks
    6. Target Cuba
    7. Deploy violence
    I remember that few years ago in Boston, a lot of low-income people were getting free heating oil from Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez.
    A coordinator was a late Joseph Kennedy. What a gratitude from our side today. I am ashamed!
  55. MarkS February 11, 2019 @ 9:23 pm
    My bad. Joseph Kennedy is alive and a critic of Pres. Maduro today.
    Nevertheless, Venezuela delivered a lot of free oil to low income Massachusetts residents.
    Excerpt from the Wiki:
    Beginning in 2005, Citgo Petroleum Company (Citgo), a wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA)—the Venezuelan state-owned oil company—has been the primary donor of heating oil to Citizens Energy.
    The Wall Street Journal and others criticized Citizens Energy for continuing its relationship with the Venezuelan government and Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez, a harsh critic of the United States.
    In response, Kennedy and others have argued that it is hypocritical to criticize a non-profit organization for accepting oil from Venezuela while numerous other American businesses are profiting from robust trade with Venezuela and at a time when the U.S. government has cut low-income fuel assistance.
    Though Citgo donations reportedly dried up in 2015 owing to Venezuela’s economic turmoil, the company was reported in 2009 to have donated 83 million gallons of oil over the two previous years, which was used to provide heating assistance to an estimated 200,000 families a year in 23 states.
    Global Research: Venezuela: From Oil Proxy to the Bolivarian Movement and Sabotage. Abysmal Poverty under US Proxy Rule (1918-1998)
    The Historical Levels of Poverty in Venezuela, Prior to the Bolivarian Revolution. Interview with Michel Chossudovsky
    Michel Chossudovsky talks to Bonnie Faulkner on Guns and Butter.
    We discuss the economic and political crisis in Venezuela, its history as an oil proxy nation since the discovery of oil in 1918, through successive dictatorships, coups d’etats, a fake nationalization of the oil industry, the Chavista movement and destabilization through financial warfare, with a special emphasis on Michel Chossudovsky’s personal experience there conducting a study on poverty in 1975 as Advisor to the Venezuelan Minister of Planning.
    The study commissioned by the Ministry of Planning (CORDIPLAN) (involving an interdiscilinary research team) headed by Michel Chossudovsky was entitled: “Venezuela: La Mapa de la Pobreza”. (Venezuela: The Poverty Map)
    The report provided detailed estimates of poverty, focusing on nutrition, education, health, housing, employment and income distribution.
    It also addressed the role of government policy. Venezuela’s oil wealth was not used to build schools and hospitals. The oil surplus was largely recycled into the hands of the oil giants and the local elites.
    Upon its release, the draft report was confiscated by the Minister of Planning. It was subsequently shelved on orders of the Cabinet (Consejo de Ministros) of President Carlos Perez.
    Michel Chossudovsky brought it out as a book in 1978, which created a bombshell. It dispelled the myth of “La Venezuela Millionaria”.
    In the period prior to the Bolivarian Revolution, extending into the 1990s, the levels of poverty were abysmally high.
    “More than 70 percent of the Venezuelan population did not meet minimum calorie and protein requirements, while approximately 45 percent were suffering from extreme undernourishment.
    More than half of Venezuelan children suffered from some degree of malnutrition.
    Infant mortality was exceedingly high.
    23 percent of the Venezuelan population was illiterate. The rate of functional illiteracy was of the order of 42%.
    One child in four was totally marginalized from the educational system (not even registered in the first grade of primary school).
    More than half the children of school age never entered high school.
    A majority of the population had little or no access to health care services.
    Half the urban population had no access to an adequate system of running water within their home.
    Unemployment was rampant.
    More than 30 percent of the total workforce was unemployed or underemployed, while 67 percent of those employed in non-agricultural activities received a salary which did not enable them to meet basic human needs (food, health, housing, clothing, etc.).
    Three-quarters of the labor force were receiving revenues below the minimum subsistence wage.”
    (Michel Chossudovsky, excerpts from La Miseria en Venezuela, Vadell, Caracas, 1978, translated from Spanish)
    The objectives of the US led Coup:
    — Install a US proxy regime,
    — Confiscate the country’s extensive oil wealth (Venezuela has the largest oil reserves Worldwide),
    — Impoverish the Venezuelan people.
    Transcript Excerpt:
    Bonnie Faulkner: It sounds like corruption played a very big part in Venezuela before Hugo Chavéz’s coup d’état and after his coup d’état when he got in charge.
    Many people are claiming that Venezuela’s economic collapse presently is linked to its socialist policies. What are Venezuela’s socialist policies and what do you make of this claim?
    Michel Chossudovsky: I think that’s a little bit of a misnomer because, first of all, Venezuela was not a socialist economy. It was essentially a capitalist economy.
    What happened is that the government nationalized certain key industries. It created what were called the Communal Councils, it had the Misiones, which were largely focusing on issues of housing, healthcare and so on, but the economy was essentially a capitalist economy, a market economy.
    If you go to Caracas you see it. I think there was a socialist process which had been implemented but by no means was this a full-fledged socialist economy.
    I think if we compare it to other Latin American countries, Venezuela in a sense would divorce itself from the so-called Washington consensus, namely the economic and social policies imposed by the Bretton Woods Institutions, e.g., World Bank, International Monetary Fund.
    It had its own structure for participatory democracy which were in some regards quite successful, particularly the Misiones.
    In fact, the failures that we’re now seeing, rising consumer prices, hyperinflation, those are engineered. They’re engineered by manipulations of the foreign exchange market.
    We know this kind of mechanism because it’s what characterized the last months of the Chilean government of Salvador Allende in 1973 (left), where persistently the national currency was under attack leading to hyperinflation and so on and so forth.
    We might say that it’s part of the IMF, World Bank, Federal Reserve “remedy,” or action. It’s very easy for Wall Street to destabilize currencies. It’s been applied in many, many countries.
    I recall when I was in Peru in the early ‘90s when President Alberto Fujimori came to power that in a single day the price of fuel went up 30 times, and that was following the IMF measures.
    Well, in the case of Venezuela, the manipulation is ongoing. The exchange rate is manipulated, and it is triggering poverty.
    There’s no question about it, that these acts of sabotage and financial warfare are creating abysmal poverty.
    But that was not the result of a government policy; it was the result of intervention in the currency markets by speculators, and this is something which is well known and understood.
    If you want to destroy a country, you destroy its currency.
    @Zionien: Yep, and they’ve done all in their power (actually all in Satan’s power as he is the one goading the Jews on) to attack Christ in the World. They’ve been very, very successful too.
    But ultimately “the problem” isn’t the Jews – although they are a certainly a big part of the problem.
    The biggest part of the problem is how today so many baptized Christians value Christ’s sacrifice cheaply, if even that. These people are worse than pagans — who at least take their religious obligations halfway seriously.
    We need to remove any childish delusions about “the Generals” staging a coup to return America to her guiding principles. It ain’t gonna happen. The generals are feeding at the carcass too.
    In any event America’s principles were fatally flawed from the beginning.
    The party is nearly over — Jews as well as Gentiles. The blood of 55 million aborted children is crying out for compensation and America will pay that bill. The entire world will pay that bill.
    And all the others, too.
    There’s little we here can do to right the World. But we CAN right ourselves.
    Prayer and fasting (and pray on your knees, not slouching on the sofa) will spare us some of the shock and awe coming our way.
    By righting ourselves we right the World.
    I hope to God every other RJN family member does the same.
    It is your God-given duty to do so!
    “Jews are very well known for lying and falsifying their alleged horrible anti-semetic vandalism.
    Remember last summer on all the Jew/Israeli owned and controlled fake American mass media TV news channels every single day there was a new story about the horrible anti-Semitic bomb threats made to the Jew facilities in Missouri or wherever?
    Then after about three weeks it all of a sudden stopped?
    Why do you think it stopped? Because the F.B.I. found out the bomb threats were all false and coming from two Jews in Israel.
    All this anti-Semitic hysteria we all here seemingly everyday is all trumped up by Jews.
    Don’t ever believe a word of it, EVER. after all Jesus himself, at JOHN 8:44, called jews the sons of the Devil, the father of all lies.
    Russian Ambassador to US Anatoly Antonov shares his thoughts on the strained relations between Russia and America. Despite Russia’s best efforts, the situation seems bleak. No reconcilement is on the table. In fact, the INF Treaty withdrawal marks a major escalation.
    Furthermore, Europe is not scrambling to adjust to the new paradigm and the possibility of American missiles being placed on their soil.
    The Ambassador points out that anti-Russian sentiment is NOT shared by the average American. It is instead a concerted and manufactured effort by Washington Elites.
    Mint Press News: As US Laments Human Rights in Venezuela, US-Allied Colombia Descends into Drug-fueled Humanitarian Crisis
    The dichotomy between Washington’s relationship with Venezuela and Colombia is yet another clear example that the public justifications for the U.S.’s Latin America policy are little more than window dressing for the U.S.-backed expansion of neo-fascist governments throughout Latin America.
    by Whitney Webb
    OGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (Analysis) — Several troubling situations are currently playing out across Colombia, yet the country’s continuing downward spiral into drug-fueled and politically-motivated violence has caused little concern in Washington, offering yet another clear indication that the U.S.’ current posturing on Venezuela is hardly motivated by concerns about “democracy,” “human rights,” or the welfare of the Venezuelan people.
    This, of course, can hardly be considered surprising, given that Colombia is a top U.S. ally whose government has long been closely aligned with Washington’s interests.
    However, although the lack of U.S. government or media attention to Colombia may effectively hide it from the American public, the country is becoming increasingly lawless, with cocaine production reaching new record levels and the government sanctioning the mass murder of the country’s largest indigenous group.
    Not only that but since Colombia’s new president, Iván Duque, came to power late last year, the number of indigenous social leaders who have been murdered has spiked to the highest levels in over a decade.
    Ultimately, the lack of media coverage of Colombia’s humanitarian crises, which have large implications for the Americas as a whole, is a telling example of how such crises are regularly weaponized by governments and media to exclusively target governments it wishes to pressure or overthrow, while turning a blind eye to those same or worse acts when committed by an allied nation.
    An absurdly double standard
    Though it was Barack Obama who first deemed Venezuela a “national security threat” and reinitiated draconian sanctions against the oil-rich nation, the Trump administration has greatly increased the sanctions targeting Venezuela, often citing its government’s alleged participation in illegal drug trafficking as justification for doing so.
    However, the U.S. has offered little in the way of concrete evidence to back up those allegations.
    During this same period, moreover, the Trump administration has expressed little concern for the booming illicit drug trade in neighboring Colombia, which has broken records for cocaine production for the last two years in a row.
    Though the Colombian government and military have been repeatedly tied to the country’s drug trade, the Trump administration – like previous U.S. administrations – hasn’t lifted a finger.
    According to UN figures released last September, Colombia’s cocaine production has again broken records, with the country producing an estimated 1,379 tons of cocaine in 2017, the latest year for which such statistics exist.
    That figure is a 31 percent increase in cocaine production from 2016. 2016 itself was a record-breaking year with cocaine production gaining by 50 percent over 2015 levels.
    Though Trump had threatened to decertify former Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos’ government over the rapid growth of cocaine production, he ultimately gave Colombia a pass in the U.S.’ annual determination of countries considered to be “major drug transit or major drug producing” areas “because the Colombian National Police and Armed Forces are close law enforcement and security partners of the United States in the Western Hemisphere.”
    The document also described Venezuela, along with its regional ally Bolivia, as “countries that have failed demonstrably during the previous 12 months to adhere to their obligations under international counternarcotics agreements” despite the fact that Bolivia had the fewest illegal coca crops of any South American country that year.
    Since getting a free pass from the Trump administration, Colombia’s current president, Iván Duque, has signaled his hopes to revive a failed, U.S.-backed program to indiscriminately spray suspected coca fields with the infamous Monsanto product glyphosate to reduce cocaine production.
    Though the U.S. government and Western media have traditionally placed the blame on leftist guerillas in Colombia, like the FARC, the 2016 peace deal that saw the FARC abandon the drug trade has removed this convenient scapegoat and highlighted the long-standing role of the Colombian military and prominent right-wing politicians in cocaine production.
    In fact, the United Nations Drug Control Program (UNDCP) has described the Colombian military — which has been armed and trained for decades by the U.S. under the Clinton era policy known as “Plan Colombia” — as being among “the biggest heroin and cocaine trading institutions.”
    The Colombian government has also been intimately involved, particularly during the presidency of Álvaro Uribe, who allegedly served as the “head of Colombia’s paramilitary groups” both before and while in office.
    Uribe was once ranked by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency “on a list of 104 important narco-traffickers contracted by the Colombian narcotics cartels.”
    There are also indications of the U.S. government’s own involvement in the Colombian cocaine trade.
    For example, Colombia’s most notorious drug trafficker, Pablo Escobar, at one point worked for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, according to Escobar’s own children.
    Escobar allegedly sold cocaine for the CIA to help the U.S. government finance its fight against communism and left-wing governments in Latin America.
    As pointed out in the book Cocaine, Death Squads and the War on Terror: U.S. Imperialism and Class Struggle in Colombia, the U.S.’ anti-drug efforts in Colombia were never intended to eradicate cocaine, but instead alter the market share by ensuring that allies of the U.S. in Colombia – the Colombian government, paramilitaries and the wealthy elite who are favorable to U.S. business interests – could monopolize the drug trade with no competition from outsiders.
    Thus, it should hardly shock anyone that the U.S. continues to turn a blind eye to the country’s booming illegal drug trade and its associated violence, even as it continues to break records year after year.
    Erasing the erasure of the Wayuú
    As the long-standing, U.S.-backed plan to oust the Chavista regime in Venezuela has unfolded, Maduro’s government has been called out in Western media for “starving his own people,” despite the fact that U.S. sanctions imposed on Venezuela are a driving factor behind the country’s economic crisis.
    However, since 2011, Colombia has been the site of ongoing genocide against the country’s largest indigenous group – the Wayuú – in the country’s Guajira region, after the Colombian government diverted their only source of water to support the operations of the country’s – and continent’s – largest coal mine.
    The suffering of the Wayuú, who have reported the deaths of at least 14,000 children due to the lack of clean water, has gone unreported by the same outlets that routinely raise concern about lack of essential goods in Venezuela.
    The Wayuú, who comprise around 20 percent of Colombia’s entire indigenous population and 48 percent of the Guajira region’s total inhabitants, are now on the brink of dying out completely seven years after the Ranchería river – their community’s only freshwater source – was diverted by the government-constructed Cercado dam in order to service the water needs of the Cerrejón coal mine.
    An estimated 37,000 Wayuú now suffer from severe malnutrition, as they can no longer grow crops or raise livestock without a freshwater source.
    Each person in the community now lives off of less than 0.7 liters (24 oz.) of water a day while the Cerrejón mine guzzles more than 2.7 million liters of water in a 24-hour period – most of which is used to improve mine “visibility” by minimizing dust pollution.
    Despite the clear impact of the dam and mine on the humanitarian crisis facing the Wayuú, the Colombian government and supportive Western media have blamed “climate change” and weather patterns like El Niño for the situation.
    The most likely reason for the erasure of the slow genocide of the Wayuú from Western media is the fact that the Cerrejón mine is largely a U.S.-backed operation, as the mine was originally founded by ExxonMobil and is now owned by a consortium of largely Western mining companies such as Anglo American and BHP Billiton.
    These same mining companies often work with right-wing paramilitary groups — who are also closely connected to the Colombian government — and who repeatedly threaten the lives of Wayuú who speak up about their people’s suffering, including their chief legal advocate, Javier Rojas Uriana.
    Notably, the Colombian Wayuú have been immigrating to the Wayuú community in Venezuela in order to avoid the slow death caused by malnutrition, lack of water, and waterborne illnesses from the polluted water from the community’s remaining wells.
    The Venezuelan Wayuú have been largely supportive of Chavismo and have backed the Maduro-led government, referring to U.S.-backed opposition protests as violent riots “intended to create chaos.”
    The Huffington Post noted in 2017 that the Wayuú’s support for Maduro had largely been erased by the Western media because it “does not match up with the media’s anti-Venezuelan government narrative.”
    Liquidating social leaders, activists, human-rights advocates
    While the fate of the Wayuú (and thus 20 percent of the country’s entire indigenous population) continues to hang in the balance, the plight of Colombia’s indigenous peoples has grown even worse since the recent inauguration of Colombian President Iván Duque.
    Despite Duque’s having come to power just last August, El Tiempo recently reported that the murders of indigenous leaders in the country have spiked to levels unseen in over a decade since Duque became Colombia’s president.
    According to data cited by El Tiempo, 120 indigenous social leaders – as well as human-rights defenders — have been murdered in cold blood during Duque’s first 100 days in office.
    Though the murder of social leaders by right-wing paramilitary groups has been a long standing problem in Colombia’s recent history, this level of targeted murder represents a spike over recent years — in which 226, 159, and 97 such murders occurred over the course of the entire years of 2018, 2017 and 2016, respectively.
    Notably, the Venezuelan government of Nicolás Maduro has been routinely accused by Western media of murdering opposition activists; yet, those same outlets have been silent on Colombia’s recent spike in activist murders.
    What to expect if US gets its way in Venezuela
    If Washington’s publicly stated concerns about “human rights” and the welfare of a country’s people in Venezuela were genuine, it would be equally critical of Colombia’s government, given the numerous troubling situations currently unfolding in that country.
    Instead, the dichotomy between Washington’s relationship with Venezuela and Colombia is yet another clear example that the public justifications for the U.S.’s Latin America policy are little more than window dressing for the U.S.-backed expansion of neo-fascist governments throughout Latin America.
    Indeed, if Juan Guaidó – the self-declared, U.S.-backed “president” of Venezuela – manages to seize power in the country, the current state of affairs in Colombia is a telling harbinger of what would likely manifest should Nicolás Maduro be overthrown and replaced with the same type of government that the U.S. has either backed or installed in several Latin American countries over the last few decades, and particularly in recent years.
    Consortium News: Regime Change Made in the USA
    Trump’s backing of Juan Guaidó’s shadow government could weaken the opposition’s longstanding support among the majority of Venezuelans, writes Steve Ellner.
    By Steve Ellner
    NACLA
    Since its outset, the Trump administration has ratcheted up pressure on Venezuela and radicalized its positions.
    In the process, the Venezuelan opposition has become more and more associated with—and dependent on—Washington and its allies.
    An example is the opposition protests that occurred last week. The actions were timed to coincide with the European Union’s “ultimatum,” which stated they would recognize the shadow government of Juan Guaidó if President Nicolás Maduro had not called elections within a week’s time.
    The opposition’s most radical sectors, which include Guaidó’s Voluntad Popular party (VP) along with former presidential candidate María Corina Machado, have always had close ties with the United States.
    Guaidó, as well as VP head Leopoldo López and the VP’s Carlos Vecchio, who is the shadow government’s chargé d’affaires in Washington, were educated in prestigious U.S. universities—not uncommon among Latin American economic and political elites.
    The ties between the opposition and international actors are strong: last weekend, Vecchio called the campaign to unseat Maduro “an international effort.”
    At the same time, Guaidó, referring to opposition-called protests, stated “today, February 2, we are going to meet again in the streets to show our gratitude to the support that the European Parliament has given us.”
    In doing so, Guaidó explicitly connected the authority of outside countries to his own assumption of leadership.
    The outcome of Washington’s actions is bound to be unfavorable in a number of ways, regardless of whether or not they achieve regime change.
    Most importantly, a government headed by Guaidó will be perceived both by Venezuelans and international observers as “made in U.S.A.”
    Further, the opposition’s association with foreign powers has enabled the Maduro leadership to keep discontented members of the Chavista movement in their ranks.
    Furthermore, Venezuelans will perceive any sign of economic recovery under a Guaidó government as made possible by aid, if not handouts, from Washington, designed to discredit Maduro’s socialist government, though such assistance will undoubtedly be used to further U.S. economic and political interests.
    In fact, U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton has indicated that he is already calling on oil companies to opt for investments in Venezuela once Maduro is overthrown.
    As he told Fox News, “we’re in conversation with major American companies now… It will make a big difference to the United States economically if we could have American oil companies really invest in and produce the oil capabilities in Venezuela.”
    Washington Dictating Strategy
    Either explicitly or implicitly, Washington is dictating strategy, or at least providing input into its formulation.
    One of the challenges the opposition faces is the need to demonstrate to rank-and-file Venezuelans that the current offensive against Maduro will be different from the disastrous attempts of 2014 and 2017, when anti-government leaders assured protesters that the president would be toppled in a matter of days.
    The opposition leadership claims that this time is different for two reasons. First, the regional Right turn has deepened, and the opposition is more able than ever to rely on decisive support from Washington and other governments, regardless of how democratic they are—see the neofascist credentials of Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro.
    Second, the opposition is counting on the backing of military officers, particularly lower-ranking ones who have allegedly lost patience with Maduro.
    In addition to some defections, junior officers attempted to stage a military coup just two days before mass opposition protests on Jan. 23 when Guaidó declared himself president.
    Previously, the Venezuelan opposition expressed a degree of contempt for military officers for their unwillingness to defy the Chavista government.
    The opposition’s new perspective dates back to Trump’s three meetings with military rebels and his statement, made alongside President Iván Duque of Colombia in September of last year, that the Maduro government “could be toppled very quickly by the military if the military decides to do that.”
    The U.S. effort to encourage the military to step in was again made evident on Wednesday in a tweet by John Bolton.
    John Bolton
    @AmbJohnBolton
    The U.S. will consider sanctions off-ramps for any Venezuelan senior military officer that stands for democracy and recognizes the constitutional government of President Juan Guaido. If not, the international financial circle will be closed off completely. Make the right choice!
    2:06 PM – Feb 6, 2019
    Recently, Guaidó made a similar offer to military officers, implying continuity and closeness between Washington and the shadow government.
    Also noteworthy is that Guaidó and other VP leaders are closer to Washington than the rest of the opposition.
    The Wall Street Journal reported that Guaidó consulted Vice President Mike Pence the night before his self-proclamation as president on Jan. 23.
    According to ex-presidential candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski the majority of the opposition parties were not aware of Guaidó’s intentions and in fact did not support the idea.
    Calling on Military
    To make matters worse, the VP-led opposition is openly working hand-in-glove with Washington.
    Last week Guaidó announced that he would attempt to transport humanitarian aid the United States has deposited on the Colombian and Brazilian borders into Venezuela.
    He called on the Venezuelan military to disobey orders from the Maduro government by facilitating the passage of goods, while Maduro ordered it blocked.
    While playing political benefactor, Washington was clearly manipulating the optics of the situation to discredit Maduro and rally more international support for Guaído.
    In an apparent rebuke to Washington and Guaidó, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric on Wednesday insisted that the humanitarian aid be “depoliticized.”
    Opposition leaders and the Trump government are also working together to isolate Venezuela economically throughout the world.
    Julio Borges, a leading member of the opposition, has campaigned to convince international financial institutions to shun Venezuelan transactions and has urged Great Britain to refuse to repatriate Venezuelan gold stored in London.
    President Maduro has responded by calling on the attorney general to open judicial proceedings against Borges on grounds of treason.
    Along similar lines, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross are currently attempting to convince international business interests to deny the Venezuelan government access to national assets in their possession.
    The Trump administration’s blatant and undisguised interventionism may in fact backfire and help Maduro counter his sagging poll numbers, which last October the polling firm Datanálisis reported was 23 percent.
    Maduro recently lashed out on Twitter at the close nexus between Washington and the opposition, saying “Aren’t you embarrassed at yourselves, ashamed at the way every day by Twitter Mike Pence, John Bolton, Mike Pompeo tell you what you should do.”
    Cornerstone of Chavista Movement
    Anti-imperialism is, of course, a major cornerstone of the Chavista movement, born from resentment of U.S. interventionism and heavy-handedness that had for decades controlled many of Venezuela’s resources and dictated its economic policies.
    The maneuvers of the Trump administration and its allies only double down on this narrative, and are counterproductive at best when it comes to solving the crisis.
    Their actions also risk fanning the flames of anti-Americanism throughout the continent.
    It wouldn’t be the first time: In 1958, then-Vice President Richard Nixon was attacked by a riotous crowd in Caracas, and a decade later Nelson Rockefeller’s fact-finding tour arranged by then-President Nixon faced off with angry disruptive protests.
    Both incidents were responses to Washington’s self-serving support for regimes that came to power through undemocratic means, in some cases with U.S. involvement.
    In its strategy towards Venezuela, Washington is invoking not only its Cold War policy but the Monroe Doctrine and its view of Latin America as the U.S.’ “backyard,”—a claim that is especially anathema throughout the region.
    Indeed, Pence told Fox News, in answering a question about why Trump is withdrawing troops from Syria and Afghanistan while intervening in Venezuela:
    “President Trump has always had a very different view of our hemisphere. He’s long understood that the United States has a special responsibility to support and nurture democracy and freedom in this hemisphere and that’s a longstanding tradition.”
    Meanwhile, President Donald Trump appointed neocon Elliott Abrams as special envoy to Venezuela.
    As a longtime U.S. diplomat, Abrams has in many ways personified the application of the Monroe Doctrine with his blatant disregard for human rights violations and the principle of non-intervention in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador in the 1980s and his alleged involvement in the 2002 coup against Hugo Chávez.
    Finally, Trump’s decision regarding CITGO, a U.S.-based company owned by Venezuela’s state oil company, speaks to a dangerous precedent.
    Last week he declared that jurisdiction over CITGO would be turned over to the shadow government, and appealed to other countries to follow similar steps.
    While condemning anti-democratic actions and fraudulent elections in Venezuela, these sanctions ignore the rule of law.
    The Maduro government was never given the opportunity to defend itself and legal procedures were not followed.
    It is always a dubious exercise to guess at Trump’s intentions. His actions in Venezuela could be designed to divert attention from the multiple probes into his own unethical behavior, or they may be a way to draw attention away from the utter fiasco of U.S. interventions in the Middle East, from Libya to Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.
    Trump may also view his Venezuela policy as a quick fix to Make America Great Again. Along similar lines, Trump evidently sees the downfall of the Maduro government as the ultimate proof that socialism doesn’t work.
    He indicated as much in his State of the Union address when he used the topic of Venezuela as a springboard for declaring: “We are born free, and we will stay free… America will never be a socialist country.”
    Yet regardless of short-term results of U.S. support for Guaidó, the final outcome will be negative.
    There are a number of reasons why: first, it bolsters the position of the most radical elements of the opposition led by the VP party, thus contributing to the fragmentation of the anti-Chavista movement.
    Second, it attaches a “made in U.S.A.” label to those positioned to govern should Maduro fall.
    The stigma would undoubtedly scuttle their chances of maintaining longstanding majority support and in doing so would undermine their authority and ability to govern.
    Third, the appeal to the military to save Venezuela has terrifying implications for a continent with a long history of military rule.
    And finally, the seizure of Venezuelan assets, which have then been turned over to a political ally, violates sacred norms of property rights, and in the process erodes confidence in the system of private property.
    These four considerations are an indication of the multiple adverse impacts that the Trump administration’s rash approach to the Maduro government will have on the United States, Venezuela, and the rest of the region.
    Rookie Congresswoman Ilhan Omar took smug Jew Elliot Abrams out behind the woodshed yesterday and gave him a serious switching.
    The Greyzone Project: Will you support genocide in Venezuela?: Congress member Ilhan Omar challenges notorious coup-monger Elliott Abrams
    US Congress member Ilhan Omar asked Trump’s new Venezuela special envoy Elliott Abrams if he would oversee genocide and war crimes as he did in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.
    By Ben Norton
    US Rep. Ilhan Omar boldly challenged infamous Iran-Contra felon Elliott Abrams in a House of Representatives hearing on the Donald Trump administration’s policy in Venezuela.
    “Would you support an armed faction within Venezuela that engages in war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide, if they believe they were serving US interests, as you did in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua?” asked Omar, a progressive Democrat representing Minnesota.
    The Grayzone
    Incredible: Rep. @IlhanMN asked war criminal Elliott Abrams, Trump’s new special envoy for Venezuela, “Would you support an armed faction within Venezuela that engages in war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide… as you did in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua?”
    In January, President Donald Trump appointed Abrams as his special envoy for Venezuela. The Trump administration has been leading a right-wing coup attempt in the oil-rich South American nation, seeking to topple its elected leftist government.
    Abrams is notorious for overseeing an array of atrocities in Central America. In 2002, under then President George W. Bush, Abrams also supported a brief military coup in Venezuela.
    In the hearing, which took place on February 13, Omar continued grilling Abrams over his involvement in US crimes in Central America.
    Omar said:
    In 1991, you pleaded guilty to two counts of withholding information from Congress regarding your involvement in the Iran-Contra affair, for which you were later pardoned by President George H. W. Bush.
    I fail to understand why members of this committee, or the American people, should find any testimony that you give today to be truthful.
    On February 8, 1982, you testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about US policy in El Salvador. In that hearing, you dismissed as ‘communist propaganda’ a report about the massacre of El Mozote, in which more than 800 civilians, including children as young as 2 years old, were brutally murdered by US-trained troops.
    During that massacre, some of those troops bragged about raping 12-year-old girls before they killed them. You later said that the US policy in El Salvador was a ‘fabulous achievement.’
    Yes or no, do you still think so?
    Bold new foreign policy voice in Congress
    Omar, a freshman in the US Congress, has shown leadership in challenging the bipartisan foreign policy consensus.
    This February, she was smeared as “anti-Semitic” for calling attention to the influence of the Israel lobby and right-wing Israel-backed groups in Washington.
    Abrams is a longtime ally of the Israel lobby, and was directly involved in the failed coup attempt against the elected Hamas government of the Gaza Strip in 2007.
    Elliott Abrams’ crimes in Central America
    In her comments during the Foreign Affairs Committee hearing, Ilhan Omar referred to the role Elliott Abrams played in backing the military junta in Guatemala in the 1980s.
    Under the sponsorship of the United States, Guatemalan dictator Efraín Ríos Montt carried out a campaign of genocide against the local Indigenous community, in a bloody attempt to crush any shred of communist and socialist resistance.
    Abrams lobbied for the US government to send more and more weapons to Ríos Montt’s regime. He attacked human rights activists and actively downplayed US-backed atrocities. Abrams even insisted that the Guatemalan junta “brought considerable progress” on human rights, progress that needed “to be rewarded and encouraged.”
    Abrams was also deeply implicated in the notorious Iran-Contra scandal, in which the United States used the money made in secret arms sales to Iran in order to fund far-right death squads in Nicaragua, known as the Contras.
    In the 1980s, Abrams even smuggled weapons to the Contras by hiding them in supposed “humanitarian aid” shipments.
    With announcement from John Bolton that US military will help deliver humanitarian aid to Guaido & Venezuela opposition, worth recalling this history: in 1980s, CIA arranged to deliver military equipment to Contra rebels in Nicaragua on planes designated for “humanitarian aid.”
    The Perfect Interim Shabbos Goy — Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez
    ~~~*~~~

    Geopolitics Alert: Guaido’s True Colors: “President” to Fix Venezuelan Relations with Israel

    Caracas (GPA) – In an interview over the weekend, “interim President” of Venezuela Juan Guaido promised he would work on restoring relations with Israel.

    Despite not actually having a government or being in any type of official position of power within Venezuela Juan Guaido is still somehow making big promises.

    Last week it was the promise to sell oil he doesn’t control to the US and this week he is setting foreign policy for a state, a military, and a diplomatic core that he doesn’t have.

    Regardless of Juan Guaido’s material position, Israel has been more than willing to indulge in the US fantasy in Venezuela and was one of the early states to recognize the fraud as “interim President.”

    Now it seems Guaido is more than willing to repay the favor should he ever actually hold office.

    Guaido made this promise in a recent interview with the Israel Hayom newspaper where he told the interviewer that he was “very happy to announce that the process of stabilizing relations with Israel is in full swing.”

    While what exactly that means when you’re a President with no power is rather ambiguous, for some reason Guaido has said restoring relations “is very important for us.”

    Regardless of all these factors, there are still several reasons the new President has made this a high priority.

    Even without any actual diplomatic staff recognized by the state, Guaidó has still been in contact with Israel and has even discussed opening a new Venezuelan embassy in Israel, saying it “is one of the subjects we are talking about.”

    Another reason Guaidó claims he wants to restore relations with the Zionists is due to the fact that “Rhett are many Venezuelans in Israel and many Jews in Venezuela.”

    According to Guaidó, this Venezuelan Jewish community “is very active and prosperous” and have expressed to the president their hopes for renewed relations with Israel.

    Guaidó says this Jewish community has a friend in him and he wishes to ‘restore their rights’ and has “no doubt that the Jews are afraid.”

    Now Guaidó has promised to protect this Jewish community should he ever take power.

    Relations between Israel and Venezuela were cut off in 2009 under Hugo Chavez, the previous Venezuelan President and mentor of Nicolás Maduro.

    Chavez knew well that Israel is very active in Latin America in helping the US subvert democracy and didn’t wish to allow the Zionists a base of operations in his country.

    Related: Juan Guaidó Promises Oil Deals with US Gas Giants

    Obviously, the reasons cited by Hugo Chavez to justify throwing the Zionists out of Venezuela is perfectly legitimate but this has been a sore point with Washington and imperial media for some time.

    US media considers the fact that Chavez expelled the Zionists and supported Palestine as proof of the anti-semitism inside the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

    This is all totally ridiculous of course and the Chavistas chose to expel the Israelis in solidarity with Palestine against imperialism.

    This shift in foreign policy was framed as dangerous and the distrust of Zionism is said to be responsible for the “flight” of Venezuelan Jews to Israel.

    But just how big is this important Jewish community?

    Before Chavez, the total Jewish population in Venezuela was only estimated at about 22,000 out of over 30 million.

    Since Chavez took power that population has dwindled down to around 7,000 meaning there are about 15,000 Venezuelan Jews in Israel.

    Supposedly restoring the Venezuelan embassy in Israel is very important, just not to more than about 20-30,000 people.

    Many Venezuelans still oppose any type of outside intervention in their country and it likely wouldn’t matter if it was US or Israeli soldiers but Guaidó is clearly more beholden to his foreign backers than he is to his own people.

    With all that said, Guaidó still hopes Israel will invest more in regime change in his country.

    “Many Western countries have already committed to sending humanitarian aid to Venezuela,” he said adding that he is “confident that Israel will also help us.”

    Since Israel is basically a US proxy this likely means Guaidó would like aid from them in the form of firearms like the ones Washington recently tried to smuggle in.

    Chavez made the correct choice in throwing out the Zionists and their agents of subversion, meaning the best hope for Venezuela to remain independent is for the Chavistas to uphold this legacy of anti-imperialism.

    Maybe Trump can get DemonRats to fund border security like this –

    Introduce border wall legislation as a way to prevent Americans from escaping out of the USA.

    Zionists may want border security if they think of it like this.

    Why not outlaw anti-Semitism completely? They did it in Soviet Russia.

    What are they waiting for? There is no serious anti-Jewish/-Israel opposition anywhere in Congress.

    Yea – got to look the part.

    Wait for the first “offense” to go viral and “offender” to be indicted. Then SCOTUS losing their evil biased Jew base, will find it Far Overreaching and Unconstitutional!

    That crap won’t fly. It’s just a Jew “ping” op checking the waters and feeling out the resistance.

    Anything they can do to make themselves feel more viable/valid in these tough times for the worms!

    That’s exactly what the Jew based Democratic Party is afraid of.

    Well that, and the lack of easily manipulated puppets to fund their Nobabcare (like slaves), votes, and taxes – Oh yea 😉

    Remember June 1-6 2017 in NYC? I left work early on June 6 and battled heavy New Jersey traffic to give you a whole lotta cash parking just east of Times Square on 43rd st thinking you’d be at Times Square.

    I remember asking four cops if they saw you and did some street evangelizing myself telling the four cops about you and urging them to go on your site.

    Last year I did the same thing but this time I had a good conversation with three navy sailors on shore leave.

    This is extremely powerful, certainly one of the most powerful things i have ever read in my 12 years of investigation; a Jewish former AIPAC employee on his deathbed admitting that AIPAC is indeed the evil empire we all know it is, and that Omar is right.

    After reading most of the article, I was wondering what could give this guy so much courage to reveal the truth from the inside suredly knowing he would be facing brutal retribution; he’s dying, which perfectly explains it.

    He valiantly calls on all young Jews like himself to join in to fight the occupation.

    “Being Marco Rubio”

    The boyish senator from Florida is owned by the Israel Lobby
    PHILIP GIRALDI • FEBRUARY 12, 2019

    “One of the emptiest of all the empty suits in the Senate is Marco Rubio of Florida.

    The boyish looking Rubio is, to be sure, ambitious, but his thought processes, if they exist at all, are hard to discern.

    He is, more than most congressmen, both totally ignorant and completely programed in what he says and how he says it.”
